Camping in the ‘Aronado’ for the Last Time

Mavrik Joos, better known as Mav, is saying a nostalgic farewell to one of his most unique and fan-favorite vehicles: the “Aronado.” In his latest video, he takes this vintage, futuristic-looking camper out for one final adventure on the shores of Lake Superior before it heads to a new owner.

The End of an Era for the ‘Giant Shiny Missile’

The Aronado is a 1980s-era camper that Mav and his friend Drew meticulously renovated a few years ago. Featuring walnut countertops, a stainless steel backsplash, and a full bathroom, the interior is a masterclass in modernizing a classic space. Despite its stunning aesthetics and 1,000 watts of solar power, Mav has decided it’s time to let it go as he focuses on other projects.

During its final trip, Mav reflects on the four years he spent with the vehicle, which he affectionately describes as a “giant shiny missile.” From catching fish on Lake Superior to enjoying a solo night in the “glamorous” interior, the video is a perfect tribute to a vehicle that has turned heads wherever it’s gone.

What’s Next for Mav?

While the Aronado is moving on, Mav continues to share his outdoor adventures and unique vehicle builds with his millions of subscribers. Whether he’s truck camping in a blizzard or renovating a new mobile space, his journey remains a source of inspiration for the van life and overlanding community.
