Today we’re introducing you to Rolling Homes in Australia! They’re an amazing family-run tiny house company which specializes in gypsy/vardo-style builds (although they’ve also built a tiny house!).
Their first model, the Gracie, is a traditional roll-top gypsy caravan with a canvas roof and magical queen-sized bedroom nook. It has custom hand-painted artwork on the front and was sold for use as an Airbnb (you can book it here). That said, a caravan like this could make a great guest cottage, office space, or even a full-time home if you’re ok with finding bathroom facilities on the road like many van-lifers.

Sure it’s interesting when a single person or couple goes tiny, but it’s downright revolutionary when a family of 5 decides to downsize from 2,000+ square feet into just 366 (440 with lofts & slide outs).
The Steinys (@steinysgotiny on Instagram) decided to switch to full-time tiny living for a number of reasons — some financial, some for the sake of minimalism, and some family-and-job related. It was also an awesome project for husband Jason and his dad to work on together.
The couple designed and built the tiny home mostly themselves, hiring contractors for the steel frame and roofing. They now park in a lovely rural spot they found on Craigslist, where their three kids have room to roam free. Inside they have three bedrooms (one for the boys, a loft bedroom for their daughter, and their Master loft).

This is the final complete build by Christine of Plum Construction, although she’s working on another project! LaLa’s Seaesta is a gorgeous black little house in Galveston, Texas just a couple blocks from the beach.
While the main living area of this house is awesome — with a full kitchen and bath, downstairs Master and upstairs loft bedroom — it’s the hidden under-the-house patio that really makes it special. You’ll find a hanging swing bed, a bar with swing seats, a projector screen, hammock and outdoor shower! Truly a special place to hang out.

Many people are skeptical of how long people really live tiny before throwing in the towel on cramped quarters. But the Reed Family’s story shows that sometimes tiny living can be a useful stepping stone to dreams come true.
The family were struggling financially trying to serve at a church in the LA area (Dad/Husband Nick is a pastor), and finally decided to fix up an RV, move 35 miles away from the church (long commute!) and live tiny to remove the financial burden of rising rents. During their RV life, they were able to save up enough money for a 1100 square foot fixer-upper just 10 minutes away from their church! They sold the RV and used that money as part of their down payment on the home.
The family of 6 (@reedsindeed) feels like their little home is a mansion in comparison! The four girls share one of the home’s two bedrooms with amazing built-in quad bunks, and the home features the coolest glass dining area. The home is on skids, allowing for a wider design. Inside you’ll find an open-concept living room and kitchen, and then a bathroom and bedroom on either end of the house.
