Aptera Solar Electric Vehicle 008

This is Aptera, an electric commuter car that runs itself on solar, and it’s set to start at just $25,900.

The car is also designed with the lowest drag coefficient thanks to its design and lightweight. And yes, there are solar panels built right onto the vehicle. So you just drive it and leave it out in the sun to recharge. Would you ever consider a solar electric car option like the Aptera?

They Got Married in College & Moved Into Their Converted Bus! 5

Ben and Tate bought a 40-foot 1992 Thomas school bus while still in high school and spent about $20,000 converting it into “Ola” — a cottage-boho style home on wheels that they moved into after getting married. They now park on a ranch in Southern California, close to the beach and family, but hit the road whenever they want to.

The Juniper Gypsy Has a Hidden TV, Swivel Driver’s Seat and Tiled Shower. 2

The Juniper Gypsy is a raised-roof school bus conversion built by a couple who embraced the boondocking lifestyle. Bryant spent nearly a year living in an unconverted van before deciding he wanted something homier. After meeting Arissa and working together, they built out this gorgeous skoolie.

Unlike many skoolie conversions, they chose residential windows for their build. They also wanted a TV without it being visible all the time, so they designed it to pop up out of the mantle. The bathroom features tile work set with flexible mortar, and the kitchen showcases live-edge countertops.

The Nook Tiny House in North Carolina 006

The Nook is a one-of-a-kind, hand-built tiny cabin tucked into the hills of Swannanoa, North Carolina, just outside Asheville, that has been offered as a bookable Airbnb retreat. Built with the help of Rob and Karie of Shelter Collective using local materials — with almost everything woven, shaped, or whittled by hand — it packs soaring 18-foot ceilings, walls of windows, a main-floor sleeping nook, a pair of tucked-away lofts, a playful indoor swing, and even a separate outdoor bathhouse into a remarkably small footprint. It’s a wonderful example of how craftsmanship and a little whimsy can make a tiny space feel anything but small.
