This air plants for tiny houses story is a guest post by Linda Branch
Air plants (Tillandsia) are perfect plants for tiny house living. They have wonderful health benefits by providing oxygen, cleaning the air and adding humidity. Another one of the great features of air plants is they don’t need any dirt. All of their nutrients are taken from the air. Air plants are self-propagating adding one or several “pups” after blooming. They come in lots of unique shapes and sizes and seem to have a personality all their own. They are fun plants and will make you happy to own them.
We have a greenhouse in the back yard that sits under a big oak tree. I have been growing and caring for air plants for over fourteen years. I design air plant arrangements and have two online shops. Please visit them and take a look at the innovative and colorful designs.
Air Plants for Tiny Houses by Linda Branch
They are mounted on driftwood, cork, in vases, mugs and up cycled glass jars and in seashells. I designed this pink owl mug arrangement with Victoriana air plants that make it look like it’s had a bad hair day.
The hanging arrangements are really great for tiny houses. All of the arrangements make wonderful gifts.
Airplant Arrangements is my online store and website.
My shop on Etsy is called The Perfect Plant and I have been selling on Etsy for the past six years.
These three-step “easy care” instructions are the guide when taking care of airplants.
They need (1) bright light; no direct sun-windows or office lights are good.
(2) Water twice a week and
(3) good air circulation.
Keep in mind airplants are shade lovers. They can withstand temperatures in the high 90’s and in the low 30’s. If you would like to know more about air plants please email me at [email protected] or call (850) 627-2037 or visit my website and online shop below. Thank you!

Hi Linda,
Wow!! Your plants are awesome!! I love your Victoriana that plant really does look like it’s having a bad hair day, really cute! I love all of your arrangements, you have quite the assortment
your very creative and talented!! I’ll be sure to check out your site.
These plants remind me of the plants that came out in the seventies they grew in water only. The more I think I had bought an air plant back in the day, now I could be wrong since it’s a long time ago.
Thanks for sharing and Good Luck with your awesome business!!

Carol, you are always very kind in your comments. 🙂
Love the plants. I didn’t think “bad hair day”. I thought “Beethoven”. Then I thought “Albert Einstein”. Then I thought I know what my first purchase towards my future tiny house will be.
Wow, thsee plants look so easy to care for and are simply fun. I lack a green thumb and I think I could care for these plants easily. Your prices are very reasonable too. Thank you so much for sharing!
