The cabin’s master suite includes a new queen bed with luxurious linens. The second floor loft space has two cozy twin beds and plenty of games and toys. Our spa-like bath includes fluffy towels, organic bath products and a large tiled shower. The cabin has an open floor plan with kitchen and living room featuring rustic modern furnishings, a large flatscreen TV, and fully-stocked kitchen with new stainless appliances.1

This ModCabin has a beautiful interior.
There’s a mini-split air conditioning system here, and it looks like we have plywood flooring, right?
Do you like the artwork and furniture?
The kitchen with full-size refrigerator.
Beautiful wood countertops.
Ladder access to the loft.
Snacks and coffee ready to go.
Two extra beds up in the loft with storage.
Cozy.
The windows in the corner allows lots of natural light in.
Downstairs, you’ll find the master bedroom.

Plenty of storage here. Do you like the floating nightstand?
In the bathroom there’s a stacking washer and dryer by the large window. There’s a separator for the toilet.
Full-size shower with subway tiles.
Access to the bathroom is via sliding barn door.
Cool lighting fixture with wardrobe hooks nearby!
The outdoor space in this cabin is almost as good as the inside… If not better?
There’s a super-awesome fireplace.
And there’s also a modern picnic table!
What an awesome place to relax and unwind.
Oh my, they don’t stop surprising us out here. There’s even a large swing!
This is too cool for school… (Staying home).
It gets better, too, because there’s a hot tub.
A hot tub in the woods!
With a nearby hammock, too.
And another picnic table by the stream.
Nature is the best way to recharge your soul.

Is this place even insulated not only in the roof but walls and in-between floors? From the photos it looks like it is not. Winters in Asheville, while only about 6-8 weeks in length, can get nasty with temps below zero (0-F) to about -15 degrees F for several days. That wood burning stove won’t keep the pipes warm enough to prevent freezing.
It looks like it’s uninsulated between floors, but the exterior walls and the ceiling are drywalled so we can’t be sure about those.
it looks to only be un-insulated between the interior floors and in the roof of the covered porch which has no living space above.
Storing firewood under a home? Dumb idea…termites.

I love it. I would like a powder room because, let’s face it, s9metimes you have to g9 at the same time and I am not gping t9 g9 on the woods. haha
Would it be possible to rent to own this type of place? I am currently stuck in Florida, but I am from the Blue Ridge. I understand that everything is not picture perfect. My credit sucks, but I would love to return home.
I simply adore this house. For those that can use lofts, you can use the area for sleeping. I’d use it as a lounge, myself. Everything is in a practical, functional design (omg, actual closets). I’m not a fan of rustic, but paired with the modern as they did here and it’s got a lovely style. And I’m a huge fan of people who build so that the home fits into the surroundings. This house BELONGS right where it is. It must be a joy. I could see myself doing nothing in front of the firepit and/or watching the stream trickly be. Wonderfully done.
Looks like a neat place to rent; however, I would be afraid of any bears in the area! And I can’t help but wonder if it would be warm enough when there’s snow on the ground as in the photos. Very nicely done, particularly the porch area and the outdoors pool, cornhole game, and firepit.
This is absolutely perfect…for me. Of course, adequate insulation is a must, so that would be the only thing I’d need to change. But at this point, we don’t really know that it’s not insulated.

I love it. Perfect.
I love the look of this place and the finishes are well done, too. I would like a bigger kitchen, though, so I would want to make the area with the swinging twin bed an interior space. There is a huge amount of covered exterior space and not as used during colder months so it makes sense to make a bit more interior space. I like the swinging bed but I’d like a bigger kitchen/living area better. Still plenty of room to move that swinging bed to the other covered area. Everyone has their own ideas and it is interesting to see how others might change a thing or two. Food for thought, for sure.

It’s lovely but knowing how many bears roam Asheville neighborhoods (friends who live there are always posting bear sighting photos), I can’t help but imagine bears enjoying the hot tub and playing on that outdoor swing.
I’m so-so on the main structure — those rooms seem very tight to me, and I fear for the roof in any kind of serious snowfall — but I’m completely drooling over all the outdoor living spaces, both porch-side and land-side. I am taking serious notes on what kind of outdoor spaces to add when I build/acquire my tiny home.
I do think the roof will be ok because I don’t believe they get much snow in Asheville. But the tight rooms are another issue!
It is a fun/cozy/ beautiful, setting and I would love to visit it there. The only thing that makes me pause is that it is a perfect place for snakes, water, leaf cover, etc. It would be my luck to step on one. There are poisonous snakes in that region.

It needs more, and larger, windows for my taste. I think small spaces seem larger if they’re not closed in but opened up to the outdoors.
I also would like to know if it was built by a tiny home company that can replicate it for others. It IS stunning, especially with that outdoor room added on.

I commented before but have thought of one more thing that builders and customers to think about. Never put a full cabinet above the kitchen sink. It makes it so you have to stand funny when doing dishes and it’s a thankless enough task without adding discomfort to the formula! For me, a sink should always have a window above it so having it on the wall where the cooktop and oven are would be a better location for me. In my previous comment I said that I’d expand the kitchen/living area which would allow plenty of space to switch them around. An added bonus to enlarging the kitchen is creating space for a dishwasher! Who can’t get behind that, right? Though I think that shower is delightful, it would be more practical to have a tub/shower combo to accommodate folks with kids or adults who enjoy a good soak…other than in the hot tub. As a senior citizen, I wouldn’t have use for a loft bedroom (maybe a smaller loft just to have room for a bit of storage) so having taller ceilings and no ladder would make this place look really spacious! Overall this is a fabulous little home and even as is, is very livable. A fabulous post!
Totally agree with you on the placement of the window above the sink. Makes a dreary job so much more bearable.

I would put the hot tub on the covered deck and carpet the stairs wooden stairs make for slippery surfaces
