When it comes to funky design and creative use of reclaimed material Derek “Deek” Diedricksen is the building master. In this case it’s a custom designed and built 140 sq. ft. off the grid cabin called the Glass House because it’s loaded with recycled windows.

Using recycled glass, windows, wood and other odds and ends Deek came up with the Glass House. When you go inside you’ll see it’s great for weekend getaways. But with some modifications you might be able to make this funky tiny cabin livable year-round. What do you think of this funky off-grid cabin? Lumbec is a tiny house builder in Gatineau, Quebec that I’m showing you here today. They’ve recently launched their new Tiny House Lumbec website along with a 3D rendition prototype of their tiny house on wheels.

You’ll also get to see a reclaimed tiny barn cabin that they built out of reclaimed materials a couple of years ago. It isn’t completely finished inside, but you can definitely see the tiny house living potential here.

This 30-foot tiny house on wheels sits on a triple-axle trailer that was custom fabricated for the house.

It has 197 sq. ft. in the main level and an additional 100 sq. ft. of loft space upstairs. Greg Parham, of Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses, is the builder. He recently delivered the home to Driftwood, TX for a family of three. Inside you’ll find two lofts, a bedroom, murphy bed, bathtub, stairs, loads of storage, full-size appliances, and more. In my opinion, this is an incredible tiny home. I’d absolutely love living in it. How about you?
