Yvan and Sylvie are on their third bus conversion and loving every minute of the freedom (and early semi-retirement) that bus life offered them. Their marriage was struggling with Yvan gone for work all the time and Sylvie at home running the family business. So Yvan convinced his company to let him travel in their bus conversion, and they sold the business.

This is actually their third bus conversion, and it’s absolutely brilliant!  Every inch of space has been carefully designed to be as functional as possible — and they even have an 8×8 bathroom in the back of the bus. The kitchen is large so they can do all the cooking they love, and they have a passenger seat up front so they can talk while driving. Pretty great!

“We’re living small. But we’re living big!” That’s what Phyllis says about her life with her husband Steve in their 2003 International Bus. Less square footage — and wheels — have allowed the almost-retired couple to travel the country and meet all kinds of people.

They prioritized an open concept inside their bus, eventually even getting rid of the step-down shower to make room for storage. Two expansive countertops run alongside the interior of the bus, just past the living area all the way to their queen-sized bed. And the 12-inch roof raise allows for headroom and nearly 5 inches of insulation. What do you think?

Timmie and Bob were high school sweethearts who lost touch after graduation and went their separate ways. But when they both ended up single nearly 40 years later, they reunited — and fell back in love! Now they are traveling the country in their amazing 2001 International Bus, having fun despite their retired age.

Their bus is bright and inviting, with a bathroom sink from Mexico, u-shaped couch that turns into their bed, and a special colorful ottoman where Timmie can rest her feet during their drives. Most of all, they are just absolutely precious, so you’ll want to watch the full tour below!

Sylvie and Yvan happened upon bus life somewhat accidentally: When Yvan traded his Mercedes for an RV, they discovered the joys of camping, and before they knew it they were living full-time and converting a 1973 GMC 4905A bus into their home.

They recently sold this build and are now renovating a 1995 MCI 102DL3 into their new home, which I can’t wait to see! But for the meantime, you should check out the video tour of their GMC bus. It includes all kinds of awesome features, such as a reclining couch with a projector screen, and a relatively large bathroom.
