Greg and Maria purchased this van intending to convert it, but Greg almost resold it because he was so overwhelmed by what a conversion would entail! Thankfully, a friend of his encouraged him not to give up, and the results of sticking to it are incredible! This family-friendly van conversion has safe seating for the four of them, and a Lagun table and swivel chairs so they can sit and eat together.

They chose to have a fixed bed in the back of the van for mom and dad, and their boys sleep in a tent since they only use the van for vacations and weekends away. Across from their kitchen, they included a bathroom with a shower stall and removable toilet. They can get more than five minutes of hot water! Let us know which feature of this van you love the most.

This family got the devastating news that their elementary-age son was slowly going blind — and there’s currently no cure. They decided to hit the road and ensure Luke got to see as much of the country as possible while he still has sight! Now, their adventure van is part of an epic giveaway to support their non-profit, A Race Against Blindness, that will fund a clinical trial for retinitis pigmentosa.

You can enter to win the van pictured below, or a custom van built to your own needs, PLUS $70,000 to help with taxes. It’s an incredible family van with sleeping for up to 6 people and seating for four. And yes, there’s an indoor shower!

We’re excited to introduce you to a new-to-us van-building company called Safe + Sonder Vans. This is their latest conversion which is for sale, called the “North.” Besides the incredible craftsmanship, what makes this van so unique is that it’s a true family vehicle! It features two swivel seats for adults and a bench seat with seatbelts for three more people.

In order to sleep everyone, there’s a fixed queen bed in the back of the van and then bunk beds across from the kitchen for up to two more people. A separate Luno bed provides sleeping for the fifth passenger on top of the bench seats. There’s upper cabinet storage all around the van in order to fit clothing and other necessary supplies for multiple people. What do you think of this design?

Allie is one amazing woman — she’s been #vanlifing for 13 years in a number of self-built rigs, and she also built a chalet which they rent out on Airbnb. She met Dan in Baja about three years ago and the couple started traveling together. While they weren’t expecting to add a newborn to the mix, they are still traveling with their little daughter in tow!

Their van has an awesome garage area to fit all the gear they need for their many adventure sports, and they found a great three-across front seat for the van, so they could safely (and legally) travel with a carseat. A pull-out bed addition will give the baby a place to sleep for the next couple years.

A tiny house, a vintage trailer, a toy hauler and now, a Ford Transit van — those are all the things Nailgun Nelly (Janelle) has overhauled since 2020! Janelle and her husband, Chad, are both nurses with fairly flexible schedules, so when they aren’t working, they’re renovating or traveling in their awesome creations.

The couple has two young sons who sleep on the pull-out couch bed (that’s also where their car seats attach in transit). Janelle chose a fixed queen-sized bed for her and Chad, and they have a swivel seat, a micro kitchen, and quite the spacious shower/toilet area for a van. Could you do #vanlife part-time?

This adorable family started their nomadic lifestyle in a bus — but it was too big for them! Originally, the couple was looking for freedom, tired of working tirelessly to afford rent in LA. Then they traded the bus for a minivan and absolutely loved traveling and the lower cost of living.

With their daughter getting older, they upgraded to this 2006 Sprinter van which they converted beautifully into a functional space for the three of them (and their cat!). There’s an IKEA couch in the back which quickly converts into a family bed in the evenings. Oh, and a basketball hoop pops up from the roof when they are stationary — so cool!
