When Hotel Elqui Domos in Elqui, Chile wanted to renovate their seven astronomical domes and add several astronomical cabins for their star gazing guests they hired Rodrigo Duque Motta Architects for the job.

The cabins are definitely NOT tiny, and hardly small, at approximately 1765 sq. ft. each. But I still thought the design was inspiring and could be used for inspiration on a smaller scale. And the existing dome renovations are in fact small (and both are just awesome), as you’ll get to see below.

When looking for a place to stay in Portland, Oregon it’s fun to consider all of the available tiny house vacations in town, including this purple cabin in the Hawthorne area.

Inside there’s a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and full bathroom for your complete convenience. There’s new furniture, linens, and even a washer/dryer inside.

I first showed you this cabin back in 2014 when I first discovered it. Now it’s 2020 and the design seems very relevant. It’s a Kanga cabin and it’s perfectly designed for a live/work lifestyle. The sort of lifestyle that many of us are now living in because of quarantine and covid-19.

I’m excited to share this 504 sq. ft. modern cabin by Kanga Room Systems with you. I know. It’s not exactly tiny (maybe to some of you) but it’s most certainly small. And I’m not sure about you, but to me, something like this would be an absolutely perfect long-term solution. The home consists of two units with a 10′ covered breezeway/porch/outdoor living area connecting the two units.

A 14’x20′ (280 sq. ft.) unit gives you your living area and kitchen while another 14’x16′ unit (224 sq. ft.) features your bedroom, bathroom, and utility closet. Pretty cool, right? And if you don’t like ladders staircases it’s perfect because there are no sleeping lofts. It’s a one-level design.

If you live and work from home and share your home with loved ones, this is absolutely perfect because you have a separate structure for peace and quiet while your significant other can use the other area as they wish without distracting you during periods of focus and concentration. This tiny cabin in the woods story is a guest post by Joe Slade

I am in the process of building this tiny cabin in the woods in Attala County, Mississippi.

It sits in the middle of 22 acres of hardwoods with no roads on the property.

All building supplies are carried in by hand. I just finished painting it to protect it for years to come.

Even though this isn’t a tiny house I still thought you’d enjoy this 840 sq. ft. modern and rustic cabin in the redwoods.

And the best part is that this particular one was designed and built in a way that makes it feel modern and rustic at the same time. But not only that… The exterior of the structure looks like a cabin. When you go inside though you’ll notice a cottage-like homey look and feel in certain rooms. So the result is a modern rustic cottage cabin, isn’t it? Oh, and good news- plans are available for this design if you like it enough to build it.

This is the Ufogel cabin. Some say it looks like a bird, and others say it looks like a spacecraft. Either way, it’s pretty unique and cool and I thought you may like it. Have you seen this modern tiny cabin called the Ufogel yet?

The Ufogel cabin is on stilts and offers 484-square-foot of living space. It’s really one of a kind, isn’t it? The tiny cabin is located in Austria and available as a vacation rental. How would you like to live or stay in a cabin like this?

I ran into this at the tiny houses category over at Reddit and just had to share it with you.

This is one man’s tiny cabin for minimalist living in the Smokies.

It was originally bought as a getaway cabin in the mountains.

At about 570 sq. ft. with an open floor plan and a great location… I think it’s a great place to live simply in… How about you?
