“Cultivating the riches of less” is the mantra of Moksha Woodwork designs, the builder of Incubate. It has a two burner Atwood cook stove, sink with gravity feed facet, four LED light sconces, large solid maple kitchen counter and maple sliding cabinet doors. The sofa folds out into a full size bed, two large trunk storage cabinets behind sofa, and Douglas Fir plywood interior paneling. The exterior features a mix of salvaged and new redwood and cedar siding, 26 gauge galvanized sheet metal covers the arch roof and sides.

This is an off-grid tiny library cabin in the Georgia forest!
Hello. we built this on a permaculture farm this last winter. An off grid library/ lounge in the middle of the Georgia woods. The project was completed in 2 weeks and cost about $2000. It is primarily made from recycled materiel. The major expenses were the wood stove and pipe, foundation and tin roofing.
Enjoy!

This tiny cob and straw bale cabin was built by local artisans as a vacation rental at the Terra Perma eco-resort and village in Harrington, Quebec, Canada.
The thick walls are insulated with straw bales and covered with cob (a mixture of clay, sand, straw, and water) and a natural limestone plaster.

This is a tiny round cabin in Florence, Oregon. It’s like a hybrid between a yurt and a cabin, isn’t it?
It’s a pretty cool design, in my opinion, but what do you think? Would you design/build something kind of like this?

This is the story of how this 850 sq. ft. modern cabin in the forest came to be.
Maricela Salas and Mary McGoff admit they were “naive” about buying raw land before making their purchase of a hillside lot in the Berkshires. It turned out to be too steep and rocky for a traditional foundation. To avoid “blasting” and ruining their beloved refuge, their contractor Arthur Jackson (of The Small Building Company) created piers to perch their cabin like a “treehouse” above the rocky ledge.2
Before they designed and built the cabin, they lived in an Airstream on the property to get to know the land better. Smart! Learn all about the cabin and get the full story by watching the video below.
