This is the story of a father/son duo who built their own heated tiny bunk house cabin for only $160 in materials!

The reason they were able to do it for so little money is that they have their own portable sawmill on the property so they are able to harvest their own wood. On top of that, they used reclaimed materials for their windows, door, furniture, furnace, and other items.

They built this little bunk cabin to house their tools (and themselves) while they build a larger log cabin on the property. Please enjoy, learn more, and re-share below. Thanks!

There is considerable information on the internet about the meaning and origin of the term “Shot Gun House.” We choose this definition:  “A house that has rooms and doors aligned such that one could fire a gun (shot gun) through the front door and out the back without hitting anything.”

This is the story of a father and son duo who designed and built quite an amazing transforming CNC minimalist tiny cabin.

It features two lofts and transforming, multifunctional custom designed and built furniture inside.

Daniel Yudchitz and his father, Bill, are both architects who took their love of craft, cabins and Swiss precision in architecture (e.g. Peter Zumthor) and created a CNC-cut cabin crafted to a fraction of an inch.1
