This is Peter Stiehler, head of Catholic Worker Hospitality House, who, along with his wife, is working on finishing a tiny house for the homeless and fighting for their legality in his city.
He currently runs a homeless shelter and a kitchen that serves breakfast “to about 70 people a day.” This month he has a meeting with the San Bruno community development officials in order to make a push for the city to allow more of these tiny homes in San Bruno, California. This is Taylor & Steph’s Incredible 560 Sq. Ft. Earthship Home in the mountains of Santa Cruz, California.
The couple built their home out of recycled materials in a way that’s sustainable and good for the environment. They had no construction skills, lived off-grid for a long time and managed to do it with less than $10,000. They’ve even shared their journey and explained the concept of Earthship Homes via a photo book. So they started a Kickstarter campaign to help raise the funds for printing. This is the Intellectual Shipping Container Home by Roostspace.
This fabulous tiny house is crisp, clean and modern. It has a ground-floor bedroom, a spacious closet, plenty of living space and a luxurious bathroom. And the good news? If you like it, it’s for sale!

This is Hammerstone School’s First Tiny House, and it was built by women.
Hammerstone School is a carpentry school in New York that teaches women to – you guessed it – build tiny homes (and other things!). Liz Coakley has lived in the home she helped build since 2013, but now the house is for sale. It has a loft bedroom, is plumbed for a shower and toilet, and has amazing cozy touches inside. Enjoy!

These are Tiny Houses for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
According to TreeHugger, The+Partners and DNC Architects designed this tiny house as a prototype for alternative housing in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do, South Korea, where the 2018 Winter Olympics will be held. There’s not enough accommodation in Gangwon city for all the people that will attend the winter games, so the architects are building tiny houses!
Gangwon city is one of the few clean areas left in Korea and it needs to be protected and kept that way. ‘The Tiny House Of Slow Town’ project has the purpose of providing accommodations with the maximized housing facilities while using the least materials, [and] that are environmentally friendly.

Kathleen and Greg from Tiny House, Tiny Footprint downsized their lives from a downtown apartment in Denver, Colorado to a 140 square foot camper trailer two years ago. For the first year of their tiny house experiment, their tiny trailer was parked in a friend’s backyard until they bought a piece of land where they could park the trailer and grow their own food.
The couple’s inspiration to adopt a minimalist lifestyle and move into a small space was multifaceted: they wanted to have a smaller environmental footprint, spend less money, have more time for outdoor adventures, and be location independent. This is the Upper Valley Tiny Homes 8×30 Beach House THOW.
It has a unique lime green lifeguard station that doubles as an eating nook and porch area, as well as two lofts. The kitchen has a two burner induction cook top, sink and refrigerator and the bathroom has a residential toilet and shower stall. Pretty cool!
