The Traveler XL is one of ESCAPE’s larger models, and this was a lightly used example that had been upgraded well past base spec before going back on the market — new window coverings, an air exchanger, an upgraded power system, and more.

Its pricing tells you something useful about how tiny houses are actually sold. The base Traveler XL listed at $98,112. Fully optioned, as this one was, the total came to $130,812 — meaning roughly a third of the sticker was options rather than structure. The resale then carried a $47,000 discount, bringing it to $83,912: less than the base price of a new one, for a unit with every option fitted.

Chris and Brandy were tired of their standard working life and decided to make the change to traveling full-time in their DIY school bus conversion. Brandy says she used to suffer from constant anxiety, but their life on the road has dramatically reduced her anxiety!
