Here’s a great 20′ tiny home that puts a unique twist on a loft. It features a half loft — on the bottom half is the bedroom, and on the top is the living room with plenty of standing room. This means no climbing downstairs in the middle of the night to the bathroom (which has a shower stall and a toilet).
The middle of the THOW has a galley kitchen complete with a two-burner cooktop, convection oven, and a large sink. For eating, there’s a bar area that flips up to provide more space. Take a look below.

Catskills Tiny House Workshop is having a workshop in upstate New York on February 10-11, 2023, teaching people how to design, move, and oversee the building of their own small houses.
The $495 fee includes accommodations (in tiny homes!), continental breakfast, sample blueprints, sample written plans, a sample builder’s contract, a sample land rental agreement for a tiny house, and a how-to guide packed with building terms, definitions, and facts. This awesome Dutch family is exploring the world in a retired firetruck that they turned into an incredible off-grid, off-roading overlander! They’re taking the truck down the Pan American highway with plans to make it to Argentina, but also no pressure to finish the route if it stops working for their family. Jasper quit his job so they could all focus on the girls while they’re young and enjoy the time together.
The firetruck has mini bunk bedrooms for the girls, a full bathroom, and a great kitchen for all their eating needs. The U-shaped dinette gives everyone a seat at the table for meals and game nights. What an incredible childhood these girls will have!

Rita does amazing paintings and murals as she travels the country in her pig-pink bus named “Wilbur” (like from “Charlotte’s Web”). What’s extra impressive is that she only spent $9,000 on the entire bus and build to create a warm, homey and functional rig.
A large section of her bus is dedicated to her art studio and supplies, but she still has space for a kitchen and couch-to-bed setup. While she built a shower in the bus, she quickly realized it was impractical and transformed it into a closet with a portable emergency toilet in the base.

This new construction THOW is 146 sq. ft. and has a loft bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom and a little space for a recliner or other comfy living room chair. It features a moody aesthetic, with dark turquoise walls and dark wood on the floors and ceilings.
At just 16 ft by 8 ft, it’s easy to transport and totally road legal. The bathroom has fun copper-colored tiles in the shower stall and a flush toilet (no composting!). It’s available in San Diego, CA.

You might think a family of 7 would try out tiny living for a few months and discover it just doesn’t work, but that wasn’t the case for this family! They’ve been on the road now in two different RVs for more than 3 years.
They renovated their current 370-square-foot rig to work for their family by adding a full-size oven, giant island and extra coat and shoe storage. The bunk room sleeps their four older kids, while the youngest has the couch-to-bed when he’s not crashing with Mom & Dad. What do you think of their setup?

It’s been a while since we’ve featured an Earthship home here, and it’s so exciting to see yet another version of these incredible, innovative, and eco-friendly homes built primarily with tires and packed dirt. Amy fell in love with the concept after volunteering to build a school out of sand-packed soda bottles and learning more about alternative building methods.
She took a hands-on course in New Mexico and then brought her skills back to Australia, where she teamed up with Martin Freney of Earthship Eco Homes — and many friends and volunteers — to build her very own 1,400-square-foot dwelling. While not “tiny,” her small home shows how trash can literally become treasure in the form of a warm and inviting home.

Parker and Isabelle wanted to do something different, and none of the rigs they could find really fit their needs — so they went wild and took a military truck base, a shelter pod and a whole lot of ingenuity to create a massive overlanding vehicle home that can fit all their outdoor toys and go just about anywhere.
With 400-lb tires, this truck is no joke. Parker renovated the cab to look like an airplane cockpit, and they have multiple cranes on the rig to make it easy to lower down heavy toys and the spare tire. Plus, it’s now for sale if you want it for yourself!
