The Birch House is a 28-foot DIY tiny home on wheels built in Arlington, Washington, and its whole identity comes from one material choice: Norwegian birch throughout the interior. Pale, tight-grained birch is the backbone of Scandinavian interiors precisely because it bounces light around a small room, and paired with an all-white galley kitchen it makes the inside feel considerably larger than 28 feet.
The layout is straightforward and well judged. A loft bedroom is reached by storage stairs rather than a ladder, a living area sits behind sliding glass doors that pull in a lot of daylight, and the bathroom carries subway tile with a rain shower. Underneath, it’s serious: a triple-axle Iron Eagle trailer built specifically for tiny houses, carrying roughly 14,000 lbs at 28 ft long, 7.5 ft wide, and 13.5 ft tall, with a metal roof, manual jacks, a 25-gallon onboard water tank, and an instant water heater.

Cazzy and Bradley are one amazing couple who have been globetrotting since 2016! Their travels have taken them from South America to Sri Lanka to Scotland and the US. While they’ve taken plenty of planes, trains, and automobiles to get around the earth so far, their latest mode of transportation has been their self-converted van.

Katy Krebs and her husband took a run-down shed and turned it into a 280-square-foot farmhouse they lived in while building their forever home on the same Texas property. That sequencing is the real story here: the shed conversion was not the destination, it was the tool that let them stay on their land, avoid rent, and fund the bigger build. Once the main house was finished, the little farmhouse had done its job and went up for sale.
For a shed, it punches well above its weight. The interior opens into a single great room combining kitchen and living space, with vaulted ceilings that are the main reason it reads as a house rather than an outbuilding. A ground-floor bedroom means no loft ladder, there is a separate full bathroom, and a mini-split handles Texas heat. The front porch is a proper one, deep enough to actually sit on.

Sara and Keenan were looking to move in together when they stumbled on a used tiny house for sale on Facebook Marketplace and decided to take the plunge and buy it. They’ve taken the space and made it their own, complete with a special office area and a cozy, magical loft bedroom.
They live in Tennessee on family land and have full electrical and plumbing hook-ups. A big deck provides a spot to enjoy their property and Sara planted a big half-moon garden bed filled with flowers that bloom in the spring.
