Plenty of tiny houses claim to be off-grid capable. This 308-square-foot THOW by Jobson Tiny Homes was engineered for it. Six 425-watt panels total 2,550 watts of solar, feeding a LiFePO4 battery bank of two 100-amp-hour (51-volt) batteries through a 3,500-watt OutBack inverter — enough to run genuine AC appliances rather than just lights and a laptop.
Water is the part most off-grid builds skip. Here, rain is collected from the gutters and run through a four-stage filtration process plus UV purification into 55 gallons of fresh storage, which means the house can generate its own supply instead of waiting on a fill-up. Insulation is high-efficiency spray foam, a Lunos HRV keeps conditioned air moving without dumping heat, and a 115V mini-split plus ceiling fan handle climate.
It sleeps six across a king primary loft, a queen loft, and a futon. The kitchen is unusually complete for a THOW: custom hardwood cabinets, a farmhouse sink, a 3-burner stove with a 21-inch gas oven, microwave, stainless range hood, and a 7.4 cu. ft. refrigerator/freezer. Walls are solid wood shiplap and the ceiling is an all-wood herringbone.

This is a stunning bus conversion made precisely to the needs of DJ and Rachel and their three wonderful dogs. They live in it part-time for vacations since they have a “regular” house and full-time jobs. While they might like to travel someday full-time, it’s simply not in the cards at this time.
They’ve been vacationing in it for two years after a very methodical build process. Instead of opting for the cheapest and quickest options, they took the time to create it exactly as they wanted and spent more than they had planned (which seems to be the way with most projects!). Here’s a tiny house on wheels that feels just like tinies “of old.” Appropriately named “The Classic,” this 20 ft. tiny home has the standard layout of many original tiny homes, but this one does upgrade with a storage staircase featuring a unique alternating step.
The loft bedroom is carpeted to make it extra comfortable, and there’s a nice bathroom next to the L-shaped kitchen. On the other end of the tiny house, there’s just enough room for a small couch. A flip-down bar sits in front of two large windows for a great eating spot. Sheena and Thom wanted to travel and see the places they kept seeing on TV and Instagram. A shuttle bus was the most affordable option for them, and including the cost of the conversion, they were able to create a home on wheels for just $15K.
They have just about everything you could want in a conversion — it even has a shower, although they prefer to use the ones at Planet Fitness simply. A fixed bed takes up the back of the bus, while a cool convertible table/dinette space has multiple “modes” for when guests are over. What do you like best?

The Eusebe family lived in a 2,500-square-foot home in Massachusetts but wanted more freedom. Mom is a travel nurse, and Dad’s job is remote, so they had the opportunity to move anywhere! They had a home built by Mint Tiny Homes, a version of their Canada Goose model, and now have more disposable income and the chance to live in new places.

The “Megalodon” is an incredible rig both inside and out. Meg is a “wholistic” nutritionist & fitness coach and practices what she preaches in her amazing 4×4 van conversion that she shares with her three big dogs. She got into van life because she loved traveling and changing things up, but hated leaving her dogs behind.
Because of that, she designed her van around her dog’s needs, including a pull-down ramp that allows them easy access to her bed and a comfortable kennel beneath the bed for relaxing. She prioritized a wet bath inside the rig and a huge fridge to keep all her healthy food. The conversion is just brimming with cool features, so be sure to watch her tour below!
