This is the amazing Sherloak Homes Tiny House by Acorn Tiny Homes. The house was built custom for a Canadian Forces member who frequently moves – now he can take his home with him!
Besides a secret bookcase door, the coolest feature of this house is the four-season porch off the front with transparent roofing tiles that let in tons of light. The house has a loft bedroom, an L-shaped couch, and a super swanky bathroom with a walk-in shower stall. What’s your favorite feature?

If you like a clean slate, this 27-foot tiny house, built professionally in British Columbia, might be the perfect minimalist space to make your own. While the board and batten exterior is offset by black trim, on the inside the home is clean, crisp, and white shiplap all over.
The house has two lofts, one over the living room that boasts a little nook window, and the other meant for sleeping that you could access via a staircase with a sturdy wooden railing. The galley kitchen has oodles of counter space, and in the bathroom, there’s a stacked washer and dryer and a corner shower stall. You can purchase it for $79,000 CAD (~$58,000 USD).

You might remember our post on VanLab from a couple of years ago, and since then the company has expanded its offerings. It most recently released this super simple IKEA-style kitchen and bed kit that fits easily into 76 different SUVs!
The kit goes in without any fasteners, so it can be removed without causing any damage to the vehicle. This means, if you want to try out nomadic life without a big commitment, you can hit the road in an afternoon! The kitchen kit alone starts at $1,950, and it’s an additional $400 to get the bed section. To get it with cushions, it’s a grand total of $2,800 (but at the moment, the cushions are sold out). What do you think of this system?

Anne stumbled across this gorgeous lot of land in New Zealand with ocean views on one end and gorgeous bush views on the other end. When she bought it, all it had was a garage and a small utility shed. Instead of choosing to build a larger home closer to the road, she decided to make the garage into her home and put a deck off the back with private views of the landscape behind her!
Eventually, she built some small cottages on the front of the property, which she rents out on Airbnb. That helps her pay the bills and make great use of the property she has. Just wait until you see her eclectic/shabby-chic cottage design!

This South Georgia cabin packs 288 square feet of living space into a 12×24 footprint, with a 6×12 covered porch on the front. Built in 2019, it’s a cabin on skids rather than a trailer — which matters: skids mean it moves by flatbed rather than being towed, and it sits like a small building rather than an RV.
Cedar on the walls and ceilings gives it the cabin feel the exterior promises. You step into an open-concept living room with room for a couch and entertainment centre; a kitchenette holds a microwave, mini fridge, and cypress cabinets. At the back there’s a private bedroom big enough for a queen mattress and a full bathroom with a 54-inch tub/shower. A 20-gallon water heater, a heating and cooling unit, and 50-amp electrical service round it out.
Editor’s note: this cabin was listed at $48,000 (negotiable) in early 2024 and has sold. Current listings are linked below.

One incredible perk of park models is often the built-in covered porches with the units! The square footage doesn’t count toward the 399 square feet of interior living space, so you get an outdoor living room.
The other great feature is that the wider footprint makes it easier to fit a first-floor bedroom inside, which is now becoming more standard in tiny homes as people realize they don’t enjoy climbing into a loft at night! This house has a spacious bedroom with a closet, and the kitchen has all full-sized appliances. There’s not much you’d be missing if you purchased this home for sale in Texas for $79,000.
