This is a modern micro cabin in Italy called the Larch Hut. It’s designed by Arboreal Architecture and reminds me of a modern version of the tiny cabin that Thoreau stayed in at Walden.
Inside you’ll find it’s very minimalist because it consists of a bed, a desk, and some overhead storage.
What do you think? Can you see yourself living this simply, even if it’s only temporary? To explore more tiny homes like this, join our Tiny House Newsletter.😀

While I would do the interior differently, I love the basic design and size. Beautiful wood and craftsmanship.
Really beautiful, but is there no toilet/shower/cooking facilities? Not sure how you could manage to stay there for more than a couple of hours!
That’s it? The woodwork looks good, but I can’t see any use for it really. Looks like a small workshop or storage shed, with a bed to sneak a nap in.
This is an intentional hut, the most basic of shelters.
If the bracing beams were adjusted slightly in their placement, the space would be more flexible.
A truckle bed under the seating platform.
Storage under an enclosed toilet/shower space.
A kitchenette on part of the desk.
Storage for change of clothes and some work tools – as an artist, I would want some materials to hand. Along with some music and books.
Perhaps a pull-out composting toilet and no shower, with camping kitchen equipment would be best. Candles, gas and a water canister would provide basic utilities.
That would allow a retreat for working uninterrupted for a few days at a time. Heaven.
I notice all the windows are shuttered so that it can e secured when not in use. Neat.
Nice simple basic cabin- I like it!
Thoreau was my inspiration to build small and off grid.
Here are my free Thoreau like cabin that can be built for around $1000.

Looks like a sauna to me. Any that don’t have a shower and toilet are useless to me.
But it has good shape and just lengthened to give a bath and kitchen, it could be very nice.
