I think my favorite aspect of tiny homes has to be that they force a certain amount of creativity that one doesn’t need in a larger home. That becomes incredibly evident in this cabinet maker’s stunning 39 ft. tiny house in Australia!
Colin and his wife Megan built this incredible modern tiny house on a gooseneck trailer. While they subcontracted the frame and some other aspects, Colin’s expertise as a cabinet-maker came out as he added all kinds of hidden drawers and cubbies to help them store and organize their goods.
There is seriously not an inch wasted in this home! They have a stand-up bedroom over the gooseneck complete with plenty of hanging storage and dream-worthy closets, a living room with a large comfortable couch, and even a clever stand-up work desk space in the secondary loft. Living Big in a Tiny House did a lovely job (as always) interviewing the couple and touring their home, so check that out at the end of the post!

Wonderful design! The standing desk is a great feature.
Right? I love that he figured that out after-the-fact, too.
I’m drooling!!! I’ve seen some marvellous tiny homes on this site but I think this gorgeous house is my favourite. There is nothing I don’t love about it (especially all the hidden storage)!!!
Totlly agree!
Yeah, but how do you find it… that’s the question? Just kidding. It is amazing to be sure.
Amazing! I love everything about this tiny house!!
This really is the best Tiny House ever.
From the brilliant cabinetry and the way they used every single space and design to the beautiful property outside.
Super Tiny House! I can’t even think of anything to do differently you really thought of it all.
Love it!
Right? The use of the space is just amazing to me. I’m still not over it!
The way he set up his stand up desk is using the loft-space is genius… Never thought of this, and have never seen it before. So cool! Something I would definitely consider doing, too…
This is one of the best I’ve seen yet. That being said, all of the great features makes me hear lots of cash register bells. I LOVE all of the clever storage and the clever way of hiding all of the AV cords. The kitchen is beautiful, however, I think that I would be able to cut serious costs in that I don’t cook much, therefore, wouldn’t need a big or fancy kitchen. All of the natural light is wonderful as well as the stand-up desk area. All in all, it is obvious that this couple really took the time to meticulously plan their home to fit their unique needs. Well done.
Yes I can imagine those features cost extra for sure!
Where did they find that beautiful place to put their tiny home?
As a Kiwi I can assure you that Australia is plenty big enough. Remember the big fires they had a few years back? Well they overlaid the fires on a map of the States and as I recall it covered over 80% of the States. That gives you a sense of scale…
This is absolutely gorgeous. The belief that a small house demands we sacrifice beauty, luxury and or wow factors, is completely disproven with this wonderfully designed home. It’s not only incredibly efficient but aesthetically beautiful. So we’ll done!
Exactly! This one wows me every time.
This is beautiful!!! Love everything in the layout.
Very nice…I love the white interior and the lighting accents below the kitchen cabinets and the loft stairways. I also love the fact that the lofts can be stood up in.
Yes I think the standing room is a big game-changer.
It’s beautiful! Seems like Australia must have fewer laws about where you can put them.
Not really, it’s a struggle to find places to put them there too. Like the states, there’s the obstacle of treating them as Caravans/RV’s, and varies from county to county, etc.
You can check out Fred’s Tiny Houses, he’s not only a builder but advocate in Australia, pushing to change the laws, and his website has a database of places and what is and isn’t allowed to get an idea… Similar to the American Tiny House Association in the States…
It’s just a big continent and remote places offer opportunities…
Big? It’s freaking H – U – G – E
Why do people think they need a 70″ tv in a room that is clearly too small for a tv that large. Must be a man thing.
No, just a human being thing. People don’t all have the same preference, or the same eye sight, etc.
