Shuttle bus converted into a tiny house for mobile living and travel.

Ina and John wanted to travel more, but do it less expensively. Van life (or in their case, shuttle bus life) gave them a chance to see the world on a budget! Below you’ll see their third conversion, which they ended up selling because they’ve gotten so good at building buses.

It features a fixed bed in the back, loads of counter space on either side of the apartment-size fridge, and a large built-in couch with a swivel table. After discovering how little they used a fixed bathroom in their former build, they chose not to include one in this conversion.

Charming 24-foot craftsman-style tiny house featuring a spacious loft bedroom and modern design.

This beautiful 24-foot Craftsman-style tiny house is NOAH-certified and ready to go! It features two lofts which are connected by a unique V-shaped staircase that meets in the middle of the home, giving you easy access to either side sans ladders.

A living room sits on one end of the tiny home and the bathroom on the other. The vanity is built over the tongue of the trailer, giving the bathroom extra space for a tiled shower and residential toilet (can be upgraded to composting). The full galley kitchen takes up the middle of the home with nearly full-sized appliances, giving you a great space to cook meals on a regular basis. It’s available now for $82.9K in Tennessee.

Family enjoying a beach day with sand dunes and cloudy sky backdrop.

Like so many of the families we’ve interviewed, this family of five had the American Dream — the big house, lots of “toys” and plenty of stuff — but it came at the hefty cost of the dad working lots of hours and missing valuable time with his family. They already owned an RV and decided it was time to switch things up!

Once they were living in it full-time, they decided to upgrade their RV to something a bit more spacious, but now that they are used to life on the road, they realize they don’t even need the space they have! Enjoy the photo tour and hear from Mom, Lauren, about their tiny life below.

Happy couple at Van Fest with their tiny van home in a forest setting.

Lance and Jess were homeowners with steady jobs who went to a van festival and fell in love with what they saw. Soon afterward, they sold their home, quit their jobs, and found a van to convert. The results are gorgeous!

They have found new remote positions, but also head up “VanFest” as a way to spread their love of van life to others — especially since that’s what led them to van life in the first place. Enjoy their tour below!

Solar-powered tiny house on a converted bus with a residential-size shower.

When Andrew was done with military life, he wanted to do something different and found van life on YouTube and began a bus build. Susanna grew up in a small town in the Midwest and was traveling to see more of the country. The couple met during Andrew’s bus conversion process and hit it off — marrying and moving into the bus together just a few months later!

The bus has a fantastic standard-size shower and a Nature’s Head composting toilet. There’s a fixed bed in the back, and they made a home for their very special espresso machine (Andrew won Susanna’s heart with a maple latte, the story goes). Enjoy the tour below!

  • Follow Michael and Acacia’s two-year DIY van life journey in South Africa, where they’ve thrived despite the trend being less popular in the region.
