Jason is a former Starbucks and Google Executive who turned to vanlife to give him and his family a fun way to adventure. While his teenagers don’t often join the couple on their travels, they have bunks to put in the garage when their big kids want to tag along.
This van features all the high-tech amenities, including an impressive stereo system that allows passengers to enjoy music on the road or while parked. They opted for a simple porta-potty setup, and their bed is pushed forward to create a private indoor shower in the garage.

Tiny house living isn’t always forever, but it’s often a wonderful chapter for individuals, couples, and families looking to save money. That was the case with the Krebs, who transformed an old shed into a gorgeous farmhouse tiny home and lived in it for a year and a half while renovating their forever home. We interviewed them right at the beginning of their tiny life, and now we are back with an update!
The family has plans to put their shed-to-tiny home on Airbnb (a great source of passive income) and live in their “big house” with their two girls. Enjoy the photos and interview with Katy below, and then stick around for the video tour from February 2022.

The Vesper is a 20-foot artisan build from Redbud Built, and it is put together to a standard most tiny houses are not: NOAH inspected and certified, on a 2021 Carry-On trailer with brakes, 2×4 foundation and wall framing under 2×6 roof trusses, with a two-foot loft extension at the rear. It weighs roughly 8,500-9,000 lbs and takes a 2-5/16″ hitch ball.
Inside, the loft bedroom is reached past a beautiful hand-built banister — the detail that gives the home its character and the clearest signal of who built it.
Editor’s note: this Vesper was listed at $109,000, later reduced to $89,000, in 2022, and it is no longer available. Redbud Built is still operating — their site and Instagram are linked below along with current listings.

Mike is a professional snowboarder who purchased 84 acres in Tahoe on a huge granite slab and transformed it into a hand-crafted rock cabin with a hot tub, cold plunge, ski lift, and even an onsite Overlander that he rents out on Airbnb!
It took Mike years and years to get the property he bought in 2005 to where it is today, and he did it with lots of help from friends and family. While the off-grid spot is still closer to glamping, it offers all the amenities of home and Mike did such an incredible job designing this masterpiece. Enjoy the tour!
