Oil field truck transformed into a tiny home with elevator bed and folding deck.

When Rob and Karen decided to travel North America instead of paying high property taxes and utility bills, they searched for the right vehicle and found this old oil field truck. Much tougher than a typical RV, it had a sturdy box on the back that they gutted and transformed into a fully functional tiny home.

The home features a deep sink, recirculating shower, and a pizza oven. But the standout feature is the elevator bed that descends from the ceiling with custom backrests, allowing them to lounge and watch TV or read in comfort.

Compact tiny house on a truck with solar panels and California King bed.

Becca and Jason built an ultra-light truck bed camper featuring a California King-sized bed and actuating solar panels that provide power for their electrical setup. After previously building out a van, they wanted something with better off-road capability.

While truck campers have stricter weight and size limitations than vans, they found the square shape easier to design than a curved van interior. Their meticulous approach to every inch of space demonstrates what’s possible in a truck bed footprint.
