Cozy tiny house with front porch in small house community, perfect for downsizing.

Melody lost her husband of 40 years suddenly and had to figure out her own path after so many years together. Downsizing made sense, and a tiny house from Incredible Tiny Homes—located in their community—seemed like the perfect fit for this new chapter.

She purchased the house for $63,000, and spends about $355/month for rent and utilities. She did an exemplary job decorating the interior and transforming it into a quaint cottage. You’ll love the tour below!

Compact black tiny house on wheels parked in desert after Appalachian Trail hike.

Katie and her two dogs live in a school bus conversion, but it’s far from Katie’s first go at tiny living. She’s been living tiny for the past six years and started out in the bed of her pick-up truck. When she grew tired of not being able to stand in her home, she decided to upgrade to her current skoolie, “Dirty Hairy.”

The bus has a full kitchen setup, including an oven, and she fits lots of storage into her small space! Plus, it’s decorated with fun colors and luxurious blankets to make this a true home on wheels. Enjoy her tour below.

Woman enjoying van life in her small home with mountain views in the background.

Mindy purchased her 2003 Honda Element in 2008 for her catering business and converted it to a camper in 2022 for travel. When her home sold in just 24 hours, she decided to live full-time in her rig until she found the perfect piece of land to settle down on.

She’s been on the road for 19 months, living out of just 35 square feet. Even with all the upgrades she’s made to her rig, she’s spent only $5.5K on the conversion, and her 20-year-old vehicle is still going strong. You’re going to love seeing the way she’s meticulously designed her home on wheels to fit everything she needs, and nothing she doesn’t.

Modern tiny house on wheels with unique window designs and eco-friendly features.

How do you go tiny when you have two teenagers? You build two tiny homes! Or at least that’s what worked for Wayne, Anthea, and their two daughters, Darienne and Remony. Wayne is an architect who wanted to design his own space, and building two tiny homes for their family sounded like a fun project.

The girls were 15 and 17 when they moved in three years ago, and now they’re adults enjoying their private “apartment” while still meeting by the outdoor patio in the evenings. The homes were DIY builds, and everyone got involved! They’re able to park them on a friend’s farm, in exchange for Anthea’s farm help. What a fun set-up!

Compact Honda Element used as a tiny home for six years in outdoor setting.

Rosa is one incredible person! While some people might be able to live out of a car for a season, Rosa has done it for six years and has no intentions of stopping. For the first five years, she did a mix of seasonal and gig work, but her YouTube channel took off enough last year that she can do it full-time now.

She lives in her Honda Element and “converted” the vehicle for under $200 with some lumber from Home Depot. Her setup is zip-tied to the back so she can remove it if she ever wants to resell the car. You’ll love her low-budget conversion and amazing outlook on life below.
