  i’d rather see a motorized roll out bed under the kitchen than the storage/table. Us older people can’t climb to a loft for the bed. Also who spends all day cooking? I don’t know why they take up so much space with a kitchen in many of these designs. Gimme a closet and pantry. Otherwise, the design is really cool! Love the garage door-in/out space and porch with roof. Really nice.

    Cooking is a huge priority for me. I spend a lot of my “home” time in my kitchen, and if I didn’t work full-time it would be even more! So, to each her own. I love this kitchen space?

    I don’t mind a good size kitchen but the large roll out bed instead of a table would be perfect. I’d use the loft for storage since it’s got a short ceiling. Maybe have a single mattress for a guest.

      If you look at the house on the original link, same company, different model, it is a very similar tiny home but the bed is through a door on the other side of the kitchen. Either way, these are EXTREMELY well designed, thoroughly thought out homes, with high-end finishes, amenities, and systems. I think the price is really great for what you are getting. I would imagine a storage cupboard/closet could be placed at the back where that alcove is. I would probably want to add a smaller deck off the sliding glass window that could either fold up on hinges to protect the slider, or be removable and latch on the side or bottom. If I had the truck already, I’d be all in right now!

    I do agree about the lack of room for clothing but the kitchen is amazing ,I actually spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I’d rather a real stove and oven than the eletric one. And I will chose without dishwasher and more storing place.
    The huge table is useless , u can have a small one instead. But is one of my favorites!!

      Honestly, I was thinking of a thin memory foam mattress that could be placed on top of the table when it’s still in the storage. A table/bed/storage container.

      It could also maybe be flexible enough to be used for cushioning on the benches, arranged for TV&lounging.

        Wow! Beautiful home! I’ve been obsessed with tiny spaces my entire life. Even though I don’t own a THOW, (yet), I find myself defending the reasoning of owning one. Most folks (of all ages) forget the #1 reason for the “wheels” isn’t necessarily to tow it around on the weekends/vacation/traveling. It’s to bypass zoning restrictions on small homes. Most towns require a minimum footprint for a home on a foundation. The wheels make it legal for parking…(did I say that correctly)? Basically, I was not allowed to build an in-law suite/tiny studio on our 8 acres but will be allowed to place a THOW there. Necessity is the mother of invention, right?!!

      Chantal, I was thinking there could be a steel post hole in the floor near the stairs for a small, two seater table to insert there and then just pull the benches out a little. It would be fun to have the large table if one were hosting a party with outdoor seating and indoor dining.

    The kitchen is way over the top for such a small place. Who needs a 33″ farm sink and a 5 burner cooktop in something this small? The pull-out dishwasher is really cool though and overall I love the kitchen (with a few changes). As a senior citizen I would have a problem with the loft sleeping area…those steps. But this is really a very classy tiny home.

      Me for a starter. Sick and tired of trying to wash baking trays, roasting dishes in a sink that is smaller than they are.

      Loss of space? Not if you have a fitting that covers it when not in use.

      And I often have 3 or 4 things on the go at the same time on my cooktop. Often cursing that I don’t have a 5 or 6 burner one and trying to juggle things so that they are all ready at the same time. And yes, I concede, I am nuts when it comes to that. So what?

        Totally agree here. Right now our apartment-sized kitchen drives me bonkers. Not enough space to cook and I cook almost every meal (we go out maybe twice a month). — Tiny House Talk Team

      Personally I LOVE the kitchen! It has everything a tiny house doesn’t usually have that I would want – dishwasher, full sized frig, counter space on BOTH sides of both the sink and the range, a sink big enough to wash a pot or a cookie sheet. I use BIG pots for canning and natural dying so this is a huge plus! The only thing in the kitchen I would change is I would want a basic stove/range instead of the fancy cook top with just the small convection oven. It wouldn’t look as sharp but I like to cook things that wouldn’t fit in that oven like lasagna, turkey, even a quiche wouldn’t fit I don’t think. Anyway, absolutely love it.

    I spend all day cooking and my problem with tiny homes is what do you do when entertaining? This is an incredible design/build. Ten years younger and I wouldn’t even mind the climb into a loft bedroom. But as Sandra says, the older you get, or the more physical injuries you incur, the less comfortable you are with climbing a ladder up and down during the night.

  I REALLY like this! ? As I am young older woman (69) I, too,am looking for a bed…but, I think like Zach (Tiny House Nation) less depth on bed frame and table that slides under kitchen. For me, a single frame with the foam mattress stored next to bed frame would be enough- but under the table. Just sayin’ ☺The natural light, the dream kitchen! When I see one like this I automatically start thinking no wheels, regular toilet, and in floor storage and enclosed storage underneath (allowing for in-floor heat). Come on Lottery! ?

  Pretty amazing house. . .beautiful to a fault. The rolling table and benches with all that storage blew me away. There was already a lovely loft area for sleeping, so why put another bed? I thought the storage table and bed was great! What terrific views form all those centrally located and protected windows. Another great idea. I love this house!

  I applaud the novel architectural ideas in this tiny house but I don’t see how it could be moved very far. The finishes are beautiful but heavy. That price is steep–I see how small batch high end materials can do that. What really needs to happen is for tiny builders to band together to get some of these materials with better economy of scale pricing so that pricing isn’t such a sticker shock. The other practical concern I have is privacy. I feel the need to cocoon sometimes and there is nowhere to get away–even the bathroom has big windows.

    The price seems steep until you compare it to class A RV. I would be concerned about the weight and the shake factor, especially with the OH door, when pulling it from location to location or on a long trek across country. Have you had any issues with it? I hope not, because it is a great idea and aesthetically it is incredible.

  Couldn’t help but notice that the composting toilet fan vents right out below the bathroom window — and the only window in the loft. That’s a stinky design flaw.

    My experience is that composting toilets make very little smell. So not an issue for the bedroom. Any odour would have dissipated by the time it got that high. Really!

  Quite a showcase here!
  Considering I’m 60 plus, I would go for the bed under the kitchen too. How about the table covering the bed before rolling it all under the kitchen floor, making the floor 5 inches higher, you would still have room to cook without stooping. Just suggesting!
  Anyway, the architecture layout is quite impressive. Good job!

  I like the style especially the central living.
  However, too many steps. Why not a double floor from one to the other end for storage. A lift up bed instead of the lofts could make the whole THOW lower.

  This is a very high-end build. I don’t know if too many singles would be purchasing something like this. This narrows the market for potential buyers.

  – I love the fold-out deck. Very nice.
  – In the loft, I’d like to see eyebrow windows at the sides of the bed and remove the window at the head of the bed. (In winter, when you shower and wash your hair before going to sleep, it makes no sense to me to have damp skin and scalp next to an outside window.)
  – I love the stainless steel country sink; fabulous!
  – Love the garage door, but would like to see a bug scrim between the outside of the garage door and the fold-up deck to keep mosquitoes and other unwanted guests out.
  – The ceiling in the master loft is too low and claustrophobic for me.
  – I’d like to have skylights to watch the stars at night and use as an alternate exit, needs be.
  – I’d rather have metal siding than the cedar wood. I’m a fan of hassle-free maintenance.
  – The huge under-floor table is a bit much for a one-person occupancy unless it was for someone who had a lot of friends and did a lot of cooking, or the table was placed in front of the window and used for a home office or study.
  – There are privacy issues with the big windows opposite the deck-door. Some kind of drapery or maybe windows with built in blinds would be needed.
  – There is a privacy issue in the bathroom, too. While I love the panoramic eyebrow windows, when bathing some kind of vision blocking would be needed.
  – I like the kitchen but there doesn’t seem to be any storage for pots and pans or glasses and dishes. The drop-down storage for spices and possibly canned goods is unique and interesting.
  – Like so many others, I’m not a fan of ladders; especially at night if one needs the loo. To be groggy with sleep and navigating a ladder seems like a set-up for an injury. I would be looking for a wrap-around storage staircase and would be willing to forfeit the big first-floor center windows to have it.
  – I like the use of subway tile; gives it a homey touch.
  – Not a fan of reclaimed barn siding. (It always makes me think of bugs.) I’d rather have wallpaper.
  – I’d like to know the dimensions and weight on this.
  – I’d love it if this build were off-grid.

  This is a beautiful and very luxurious build. Lots of great ideas and things to look at and enjoy. It’s too pricey for the average Tiny Houser, but I’m sure there are those who would love this kind of big treat living; especially if they already own the land to put it on.

    I’d buy it in a heartbeat with what it offers but I’m still in the mindset that the reason to go tiny is to eliminate overhead and not be saddled with a mortgage. Isn’t that how all of this got started in the first place???

    BTW, I LOVE the kitchen in it, but of course I like to COOK. lol

    Lisa E., the Shou Sugii Ban wood siding is a technique that makes the wood bug free and virtually maintenance free. Cedar helps with bus as well. It is a really cool technique – if you look it up you might be interested, plus is is uerathane coated. Listed ammenities: Shou sugi ban cedar siding / Red Western Cedar siding (triple coated Spar Urethane)

  I find there are lots of designs by men but am wondering how many tiny home architects are women. Yes, guys often make the modern sterile looking homes.Women definitely see and include different elements than male designers do. Men and women do SEE things differently. Men seems to focus on making something functional. Luckily there are hundreds of tiny homes and builders out there. Most are willing to alter the design to someone’s preferences. namaste’, rachel

    I’m a woman and hate when something, especially a tiny house, isn’t functional. BUT, I agree that these homes all seem to be designed by men. There is rarely ever any hanging room for clothes and never for dresses or longer coats!

  Beautiful, but way too pricey! And how about no wheels or ladder? I’m ready to stay put, and need a stairway or bedroom and bath on the first floor at 70. If you have to be mobile because you can’t meet the building codes, then find a way to meet them, and really take us boomers into consideration by showing us tiny homes, not trailers. This place has so many good ideas. Can’t they be incorporated into a tiny home w/o wheels?

    I’d agree with a role out bed, but the loft works.
    I would swap the bathtub for a shower and hanging closet.
    Maybe some different windows.
    But those are all personal choices. Very well done.

    as to the bed, this was presented a few months ago with roughly the same plan, but with a slide out bed from beneath the kitchen….very doable.

  It’s beautiful and has a more adequate kitchen than most tinies. I would have trouble getting used to the garage door and would definitely need more privacy. Even though I’m always clothed I like to feel invisible, not on stage.

  Just like any house, a tiny house on wheels still must be designed for its intended climate and locale. Some sites offer free gas. Just get a gas-operated generator and all your heating, cooking, and power needs are met. The design is fine. I like the overhead door–don’t see that very often. Really opens it up. Doesn’t it structurally weaken the whole house? Great kitchen sink. I think these tiny homes need light colors. And which old person thinks anyone would want to look at them?

  Just a thought, but why not make a tiny house on trailer that can simply be lifted off with a crane and set on a foundation when you decide to make it permanant? Then sell the trailer. This would drive insurance companies and code enforcers crazy!

    jm, it exists already. A 20′ shipping container modified to a tiny house could be easy stored on a flatbed trailer and when you want to go longer a 30′ container on a goose neck trailer would be an option.
    Used container can be purchased for less than scrap value and rady to move in ones are starting at 10 grand.

  It ain’t worth $95,000.00 no matter how many green plants he stuffs in it… His girlfriend may like that big hole in the wall where there should have been a couple of windows, and maybe a wall to set a couch up against.. That thing has to be one great big thermal leak… You will either be freezing your lower posteur off, or spending a lot of money on firewood, and summer’s best live in the north some where it is not as hot during those real hot months of summer.. Lmao….! I feel sorry for the sucker who spends his hard earned on this one… And not for nothing even if it held it’s own, this is one of the reasons why the government wants to kill tiny housing and it’s construction… And everybody wants to know why the topic, (Is the tiny house erra dieing) keeps coming up …. Between prices like these, and the irresponsible people paying them thinking it’s sheek.. It’s a no brainer ….!

    Agree on all counts, especially inre thermal leak… as attractive as this place looks, unsuitable for most climates. Presumably zero energy efficiency. And despite some clever storage solutions, how many nights is a tiny dweller hosting dinner parties for a dozen or more? Kind of impractical to put it mildly. It’s very pretty, but smoke and mirrors usually appear that way at first.

      I don’t entertain often but whenever I think about going tiny, it bothers me that I would NEVER be able to! This is perfect! It takes up no extra space but it’s always available when you want it. Also, sometimes I need a big table for my crafts.

  considering the time too built , the tiles , appliances , designing , the cash he spent , he made this tiny house very functional – tiny spaces ! the materials he used isn’t and wasn’t cheap ! now if you used the exact materials , labor , designing in a bigger home – it would cost you a lot more cash – $$$$$$$$ ! If I had the cash I would buy it !

  I think this is one of my favorite tiny homes I’ve seen in a while. I originally saw the episode of tiny homes, big living that this was in. I really think that the garage door is awesome but having doors and windows on both sides loses a lot of wall room. I would love to get rid of the french doors, maybe keep the window above them, and put a couch there. You might loose the ability to pull the bench out, but use that space for something else and the garage door is an awkward front door. Also, I agree with many others who commented that the loft ceiling was too low. It also seems small where the mattress butts up against the end of the loft. I’ve seen many lofts where there’s at least a foot between the mattress and the edge.
  If nothing else was changed I would have to add one thing. I’m a big reader and like books. Usually you don’t waste space on books in a tiny home, plus transportation becomes difficult. But, on the wall to the bathroom under the loft, instead of the bars behind the wall for clothes and the shadow boxes for displaying, I would have bookshelves on either side, with hidden compartments or pull out cabinets like they use in kitchens for clothes storage. One side could pull out for hanging and vertical storage, while the other side could swing open to reveal more shelves for clothes, shoes, whatever.
  I love the kitchen! The hidden upper cabinets seems like a genius idea but a pull out pantry might be more practical. I love that window next to the fridge near the ground, and can just see a little kid pressing their face to it to see outside the window. I thought the extension of the exterior walls past the kitchen was wasteful. All in all, this tiny house had some great ideas, and I’ll probably put one or two in my own tiny home.

  I would think it to be only good for a warmer tempered regions of the US, seeing how someone cut a great big hole in it’s side and added a dumb garage door instead of maybe a sliding glass door which would have made more sense… And if you wanted that open air feeling kinda thing so to be out side they do make a 4 panel type to open up to the outside… But other wise as a house type structure for full time living, it is to impractical, and I find it hard to see the appeal… But I know someone will give me an argument on that because it so cute….!

    I think this is the ONLY THOW that I’ve ever seen that IS functional for full time living. But I agree about the huge windows. I live in MI with cold winters and that wouldn’t work.

  Probably the best built thow I’ve seen. List of ameneties is long–I don’t think any expense was sparred here. Much innovation. And there are plenty of places where all you want to see are the views. And we should all be so fortunate as to have a peeper or two who want to look…

  I really like this design. It reminds me of the old pioneer homes of the open plains. They had a bedroom on one end, the kitchen on the other end and a breeze way in the middle.
  In this design the only thing l would change for me, would be to have a roll out bed instead of that big beautiful table and figure something else out for the table.

  This solution reflects my taste: The great opposing windows offer continuity or thread with nature, the two housing sections facing each other are bathed in light, the thing that strikes mainly is the constuctive genius caressed by a refined mold design, artistic, full of cordiality and with themselves.

  This is gorgeous. I love wood but I’ve never been a fan of floor to ceiling wood paneling that’s so typical in tiny houses – but this is awesome – love the use of white walls and white tile mixed in – it really makes the beautiful wood pop. What kind of wood is that? Very pretty.
  And that kitchen! Amazing. A proper kitchen in which to cook all those money saving meals.
  And a bathtub! Man, I love this place. Only change I’d make is a trundle bed under the kitchen but that’s just b/c I have a bad hip and can’t be going up and down ladders to sleep. Anyway, love this tiny house – beautiful, thoughtful, substantial design inside and out.

  Great house – beautiful. The “garage door” wall seems really neat. I’ve lived in a tiny house for 8 years in RV parks and a mobile home park and I offer some things to consider: Big windows may need big window coverings depending on where you live – definitely, if you live in an RV park! And in cold weather, lots of glass means lots of condensation, not to mention heat loss in a small space. Of course, it doesn’t take a whole lot to heat a small space, but you’ll certainly need more heat with windows so large. And, the converse would be true, too, in a hot climate. Just something to keep in mind.

  One of a kind! I loved it the first time you sent the link and still love it. Except for the ladder of course.
  Saw a youtube video of a girl who turned a kitchen egress window into a solar cooker. Would fit perfectly into his window here too.

  I am a little late in commenting, coming from another link, but I just was so impressed I had to comment and say:

  Wow! Stunning!

  The design is wonderful. Neat. Compact. Yet airy. Love it.

  Side note: The only “issue” I see is the low space above the bed. Okay for sleeping, but if one is in a relationship….. well that type of space might be, well, ….. limiting. 🙂

  Without a doubt one of the most imaginative, not so tiny, houses I have yet seen. I’ve seen a slide out bed, but not with the extra bits and pieces, the garage door concept too, but a little leery of it in my Midwestern climate – hey, that’s resolvable. Beautiful finishes. Keep up the good work.

    OK – so don’t order the garage door. Never seen one of these or any conventional home that was exactly what I would want. I guess that’s why I’m always remodeling my home. I’ve built one 5×8 travel trailer with a 5×4 ramp and floor extension, giving me 5×12 of floor space, but no Tiny house just yet. Lot’s of good ideas in this Tiny home. My house has 2700 sf and I can’t imagine sizing down to a Tiny house, but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I am 77 and don’t need all my stuff, but I’m also an Artist and use space. The dilemma!

  I absolutely love this THOW! I always thought I could never go this small because there are too many things that I would want/require. This has it ALL. A bathtub, dishwasher, washer/dryer, full sized refrigerator, counter space on both sides of the sink and range, a big enough sink to wash my big pots for my hobbies, big table and benches for dinner guests and for some of my hobbies, More store space than most THOWs and especially some deeper space for some of my big things like big pots for canning and dying, my food dehydrator, my huge ice cream maker, maybe my sewing machine? Also, I wouldn’t want to use a bed under the kitchen like some would, but if my mom visited she could NOT get to the loft. I would have an aero bed and just put it on top of the table (If its big enough). The only MINOR drawback is that there is no place to hang clothes. There’s those tiny bars by the bathroom door but I would need length for dresses and longer coats and more hanging room. Oh, and I love the outdoor deck!The MAJOR problems FOR ME are that I live in MI where the winters are cold and I don’t think those beautiful windows would work. Also, it’s too expensive for me. I live where I could get a regular house for $95,000 with the land. One of my main purposes for going tiny would be for the cheaper living. But for places across the country where housing is much more expensive this WOULD be cheaper living. I can’t afford it but I think it’s every bit WORTH it. SIGH…

  Hi loved this Alpha Tiny House, i`m from Brazil and i like very much, build a tiny hause fom me, but in Brazil dont`t have this category of the home, only trailers.
  I would like to receive the floor plan of this house on wheels and try to be the first Brazilian to build one. My resources are few and the material in Brazil is expensive, but I believe in perceveraça and willpower. I really appreciate if you can give me the floor plan for this “ Alpha tiny House“ Thanks Marcelo

  I absolutely adore this! A loft bed won’t work for me, so I’d have to put the bed where the dining table is and add some room darkening shades. But everything else is basically perfect! I love the light and the growing space for kitchen herbs, as well as the color palette. Fabulous!

  I am impressed with the interior design. I would be highly concerned about its road worthiness, being that the dual axles are in the dead center of the home. This causes many issues, such as light tongue weight, excessive swing of the rear of the home when turning, and fishtailing, which could cause some very unsafe conditions. If it is not going anywhere, than great job.

  This is my favorite tiny house ever. I love to cook, so the kitchen is the major selling point, but I also have a family so the large table (which could easily be a bed with a futon on top- just stored in the loft) is important, too. I could see how you could actually live and function in a tiny house if it was like this one! I disagree that there isn’t enough storage space, but then I don’t need clothes that have to be kept hanging. And I do live in a tropical climate, so the garage doors add a lot more useable space than I would have if I lived someplace colder! But for me (and the family), this would be perfect.

  Although I simply can’t do the sleeping loft thing, I think this place is beautiful. The choices for the kitchen and bathroom really look great and the huge windows make the space seem huge. Gorgeous.

  I love it. As a Sigler 55yr old, I’d do away with the loft as is, and make it all a u shaped storage accessed by the old library type ladder that slides around a bar. I’d have some sort of bed platform designed that would fit under the table so table could be pulled out leaving the bed tucked away.

  I love this layout – I dont know why people are critical of particular designs when we all have different needs and desires. My husband and I are both foodies so we spend alot of time cooking – a full kitchen is important to us – I have been researching tiny homes and tiny home living for over a year. The versatility to meet different is only limited by peoples ability to think creatively – with bedrooms in the loft or downstairs, with full baths or soaking tubs Japanese style they can be quite luxurious – pull outs for extra space when setting up – they can be no different than a small city apartment

    Comments folks make are actually just ideas, preferences, that they would put into their own tiny home. Some are for and some against. Though various areas have codes that are friendly, and some not so, it all boils down to an ability to live within a certain amount of space is a specific area. The ideas shared are actually quite suitable to small apartment living. Moons ago we lived in a one room studio, small kitchenette, bath, folding wall down the center of the “big” room. Today, everyone is grown and gone and I float around in a three story house with stuff all over the place, every corner, and room, books, stuff and things, my art studio, and so on, the garage is set up for woodworking. The cats ( two ) never stop moving around the house. I love Tiny Houses!

  I couldn’t help but notice the left-opening refrigerator– against the wall and away from the room. Most refrigerators have reversible doors. Maybe nobody thought of this?

  Out of my price range but stunning. I would put a bed and a table (dining and crafts) and storage benches under the kitchen that would pull out separately from each other. Eventually add a bedroom where the garage door is when I made it stationary. I like that you can close up the deck and secure it. Perfect for a lake house.

  The idea in the beginning with tiny houses was to downsize and get rid of debt/mortgage payments. $79-$95K??? I’m not buying it.

  I can’t help but laugh at the comments. Most of the time, people look at Tiny Houses and say “there’s nowhere to cook”; In this case, people are complaining that the kitchen is too big. :)　 (Obligatory disclaimer: I’m one who hates the micro-kitchens.)

  Personal thoughts — I’d change the pullout storage table for a pullout bed with storage, and do something different with the big table — perhaps lower it from the ceiling. The loft could be storage/guest space. There definitely needs to be a screen on that huge open door…perhaps a roller screen that pulls out from one side.

  I really like the frontiers new tiny house layouts i really liked the kitchens .bath areas and the structures the the building of the structure seems very well built.but i m not liking so much windows there are alot of windows not everyone likes having everyone looking in or looking out for display.dont get me wrong i think they are nice but make more virsital buildings with much less in windows.because there are people that live in them too.just i thought.

  This is without a doubt my favorite unit. I’ve seen it before. Love the garage door idea. Engineered beyond belief throughout. Put together like a Chinese puzzle when you pull on this and it slides out as that and so on. Everything is so well thought out and put together. Beautiful finishes and placed in an ideal spot. Only thing, where’s the swimming pool?
