Looking for a tiny house design that will work for you even as you age? This 10×28 Willamette Farmhouse model was specially-designed by Tiny SMART House for a client who wanted a wheelchair-friendly aging-in-place tiny house!
All the door frames fit a wheelchair, and there is proper space for turning everywhere. The counter tops are built to sitting height, and the client opted for a Murphy bed that transforms into a desk during the day time so her bed could stay on the ground floor. The walk-in shower features two shower seats and a grab bar. And there’s even a doggie door so her pets can get in and out without her straining!

This is the first ADA compliant tiny house on a foundation completed by Tiny SMART House. It features a really cool murphy bed that also works as a desk. Pretty awesome, right?
I think you’ll love this tiny house because it’s tiny, but not limited to 8’6″ wide because it’s built on a foundation. This makes it really comfortable and appealing to maybe your significant other who’s not into living too tiny. It also features a doggy door. This is the “Tiny SMART House” that was featured on Tiny House Hunters on HGTV.
What makes it “SMART”? Sustainable construction, modern efficiency, affordable luxury, residential or commercial, and tow-able anywhere. Designed with a “Steam Punk” vibe, the outside looks clean and classic with vertical and horizontal cream siding and grey trim. It’s tall and angular, providing plenty of space in a compact shell.
Inside you’ll notice floor to ceiling redwood siding with copper exposed plumbing, as well as an antique chandelier. An oven, stove-top and deep stainless steel kitchen sink provide the luxury of a regular kitchen and the corner seating area includes under-bench storage. There’s a breakfast nook, storage loft, and a completely closed off loft for sleeping. The bathroom has a remarkably unique corrugated metal shower, complete with more of the exposed copper plumbing.
