While it’s not uncommon for a yurt to be placed on a deck, I’m not sure we’ve ever seen one on stilts! This set-up allows for a spacious sleeping area in the yurt itself, and a fun porch with a private soaking tub and fire pit.

On the first floor, the bathhouse has a residential toilet and walk-in shower with two shower heads. A spiral staircase takes you up to the second level, where the yurt and porch are located. You’re not far from Lake George, but there’s also a shared pool about 300 feet from the yurt.

Tiny cabins make excellent romantic getaways, and this one on Saint John River is no exception. Add in a sauna and two hammock swings under the porch, and you have the perfect getaway!

This unique design has a loft bedroom suspended above the main living area, with balconies on either end and two massive skylights that give you starry sky views at night. You can curl up on the plush black couch and look out on the trees, or walk down to the river and sit on the shore. A pellet stove will keep you toasty and comfortable on chilly winter nights.

The Catskill Domeo is a fun little dome home in a backyard in Hensonville, New York that has been decked out with birch/bear decor to make it truly feel like a forest escape. While the house is more or less a tent, there’s running water, a composting toilet indoors, and heat/AC to keep the temperature comfortable.

The little dome sits in the far corner of the yard where a grill and patio table provide outdoor living space. Indoors you can sleep in the queen bed downstairs, or up in the loft on a fold-out bed (if you are bringing more people). What a fun little cottage!

When it comes to architecture, there’s just something magical about a round-ish structure. In the case of this octagonal yurt-style home, the cathedral ceilings and circular floor have amazing acoustics, this Airbnb host calls it a “sound healing temple.”

And the temple lacks nothing! There’s a full bathroom, a full kitchen, multiple futon beds to sleep on, and a wood-burning stove. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy the fire-pit outdoors. Plus the musical instruments inside the yurt give you a chance to enjoy sound healing during your stay. What do you think?
