This 176 sq. ft. sustainable tiny house is a guest post by Kristen Edge – share yours!

This is the tiny house my husband, and somewhat myself, built. We used a 32′ trailer we bought from someone who was tearing down a mobile home park and put our house on it. The house is about 22′ x 8′, the deck is 9′ (still on the trailer), and the rest of the length is the tongue and our little shed in the back.

We used primarily reused materials including redwood from an old deck (which we sanded and refinished to become our deck) that we got off Craigslist. Some free old barn wood from Craigslist, the engineered, maple hardwood floor was project leftovers that we got on Craigslist, an old cedar fence from Phoenix as our siding, and most of our fixtures and other odds and ends from Habitat for Humanity ReStore.

Please enjoy, learn more and re-share below. Thank you!

Alan Reid has designed a 8×12 tiny house as part of our 2015 8×12 tiny house design contest. He calls this design The Lookout.

The total height of this tiny house without foundation is 13 ft. Alan said with some height modifications this could be built on a trailer but as pictured below it’s on a foundation.

He has spent some time creating these beautiful pictures below of the exterior and interior of his design.

In his design there is a desk area, kitchen and bathroom on the bottom level and a sleeping loft above.

Enjoy the pictures below of 8×12 The Lookout Tiny House Design.

Do you think living simply could be easy with this tiny house? Although it’s only 100 square feet it has just about everything you need.

In this post I’m excited to share the Hummingbird Loft with you. It’s a 100 sq. ft.tiny house with a sleeping & storage loft made of steel-frame and it’s built on a foundation (not on wheels).

When you walk up the porch and through the front door into the main level you’re greeted by the living room and kitchen.

Keep walking towards the back and you’ll find the bathroom. The ladder takes you up to the sleeping loft and storage area. One of the sleeping lofts is above the front porch, the storage loft is over the living area, and the other sleeping loft is in the rear above the kitchen/bathroom area.

Ready to get the full tour including floor plan and all? I hope you’ll enjoy below.
