This 640 sq. ft. 1-bedroom houseboat is in Seattle, Washington’s Lake Union community.

It was built back in 1920, according to Small House Bliss. Since that time it has been added onto which has made it less tiny. Inside you’ll find an office, bedroom, living area, kitchen, and more.

This floating home was listed for sale with an asking price of $670K (ouch!) but was actually sold for $490,000 (still an ouch!) according to Estately. If it were more affordable, how would you like to live in a floating cottage like this one right on the water? Please enjoy and re-share below. Thank you!

Stream Belmont and Stream Real Estate together with NK Architects has built a 6-story, 70-unit net zero sustainable apartments in Seattle’s Capital Hill neighborhood.

This is a very walkable neighborhood so you can easily get to restaurants, transportation, and shops by foot without the need to own a car.

The builders are offering studio apartments (461 sq. ft.), 1 bedrooms (599 sq. ft.), and 2 bedrooms with loft options for each. In addition, they each get private balconies and access to a rooftop deck for views of downtown.

Sustainable design features of the apartment building include meeting LEED Gold certification standards, reverse cycle air-to-water chillers to heat hot water, reflective roofing, LED lighting throughout, Energy Star appliances inside, and passive cooling design.

Last month I told you about a business man who built a community of tiny houses for the homeless in Texas.

Ever since then I’ve been noticing more projects and non-profits who are on a similar mission.

This story begins with a group of homeless people protesting in a parking lot in the city of Olympia.

They did so by camping out in the parking lot in 2007 when, later, police forced them out.

After this, local churches started offering space for the people to camp in since they had nowhere else to go.

Today- several years later- it is a self-governed village of 30 permanent tiny cabins for the group to live in.

I think you’re going to love how this guy turned a 182 sq. ft. storage space into an awesome, fully livable 8-room micro apartment in Seattle.

That’s right. At first he was just looking for some storage space to keep some of his extra stuff. Once he took a better look, he immediately realized that the space had more potential than just for storage.

Since he used to design airplane interiors for Boeing, he decided to use his expertise to create a home that would fit into the 182-square-foot storage space.
