Donna and her husband will take over her parent’s farm someday, and in the interim, they’ve set up a lovely geodesic dome vacation home for guests to enjoy a romantic getaway. It allows them to bring in some extra income while Donna is at home with her young children (and going back to work wouldn’t cover daycare expenses).
The dome sits on the Mangora River in New Zealand, and has all the comforts of home — a King-sized bed, a wood-burning stove, a kitchen with a two-burner cooktop, and a bathroom with a shower. Take a tour of the space and hear from Donna about the construction of the cabin below!

The Catskill Domeo is a fun little dome home in a backyard in Hensonville, New York that has been decked out with birch/bear decor to make it truly feel like a forest escape. While the house is more or less a tent, there’s running water, a composting toilet indoors, and heat/AC to keep the temperature comfortable.
The little dome sits in the far corner of the yard where a grill and patio table provide outdoor living space. Indoors you can sleep in the queen bed downstairs, or up in the loft on a fold-out bed (if you are bringing more people). What a fun little cottage!

There are geodesic domes scattered across North America to stay in, but this one is particularly magical since it sits on the Nalu Retreat grounds in Nova Scotia, Canada. The private grounds are kept free from partying or loud carousing, designed to be a true respite from the busyness of what’s going on elsewhere.
The dome itself boasts 16-foot-high ceilings, a cozy electric fireplace, a 3/4 luxury bathroom, and amazing panoramic views of the Canadian forest outside. After crawling out of your cushy queen-sized bed, you can make a cup of coffee in the kitchenette and sit in patio chairs on your private deck overlooking the grounds. There’s a mini hot tub, a fire pit, and even a loft space for stargazing. What do you think?

These 70s geodesic dome homes are such fun pieces of history. This one was recently renovated in 2019, meaning you’ll get all the modern conveniences and finishes on the inside while retaining the 70s charm on the exterior.
The dome has two bedrooms located on the first floor, while the second story holds the “common space” with a living room, kitchen, and dining area. A covered mudroom brings you indoors. What do you like about this dome?

Tawnie and Wayne are nomads at heart who travel the country in their RV. But they wanted a home base and because of their financial savvy (they were both finance majors), they were able to purchase 4 acres of property in North Carolina and outfit it with a 420 sq. ft. geodesic dome home and adjacent bathhouse.
Now they have a spot to come “home” to, but when they’re off exploring, it’s available as an Airbnb. The dome is set up as half magical bedroom (with a view!) and half living room and kitchen. The bathroom is just a few steps away and has all the luxuries you want!
