Matt and Nikki were supposed to get married in 2020, but when those plans got messed up, Nikki slowly started convincing Matt that a bus conversion would be a super fun lifestyle change. At the time they were childless, but the couple just moved into the bus and are expecting a baby any day now!

Nikki spent a lot of time at their local Maker’s Space in Canada, where there are all kinds of tools available for projects. She learned a lot from the folks there, and the couple also relied heavily on family members to help with different aspects of their build. The final result is breathtaking!

Dustin’s commercial HVAC job had him constantly traveling for work and kept him away from his family. One day it clicked that he would much rather travel with his wife (Sky) and daughter (Aria), and since Sky had always wanted a bus, they went on Facebook Marketplace and got one!

The couple still own their home in Pennsylvania, and rent it out. That provides them with the income needed to travel full-time and not work on the road. Aria does school from the bus, so as long as there’s wifi, they can go wherever they want.

Their bus looks awesome, and just wait until you see how proud Aria is of her bedroom!

This couple with school-aged children is living in their second bus conversion after selling the first one and building out a Thomas Saf-T-Liner to better meet their needs. In fact, they even make money on the side helping others renovate their buses!

The bus features an L-shaped lounge area that doubles as the dining room, and a huge Navy blue and white kitchen. Mom and dad asked the kids what they really wanted in the bus, and they chose monkey bars! Each kid was also permitted to paint their bunk area however they liked.

In the back you’ll find the Master bedroom, complete with a vanity for mom. See the full bus tour, brought to us by Tiny Home Tours, below!

For seven years this family had a successful gymnastics business they ran out of a bus — but when 2020 hit, they went out of business almost instantaneously. Savings kept them afloat through October 2020, when they realized they needed to do something if they wanted a home.

So despite the difficulties and stresses associated with losing their income, they made the best of it and converted their work bus into their skoolie home! Now the couple and their son (and dog) live full-time in the bus, which they converted using furniture from their home and other repurposed materials to save money.

You can follow them as they continue making lemonade over at @raisingkindnessadventures.

Shane and Emily have two little kids and travel the country with their band, doing what they love, while never needing to sacrifice family time to make it happen. They lived in an RV for four years before jumping on the bus bandwagon.

They chose a skoolie because it was a safer choice for their family, and built the whole thing from the bottom up! Now they’re on the road to becoming debt-free, all while enjoying the little moments between gigs.

We got to do a Q&A with Shane about their bus and their life, and you’ll definitely want to read it below! Follow the family on Instagram here to keep up with their journey.

Caleb is a web developer and he and his wife, Hannah, and their three-year-old are traveling around in their amazing Chevy Short Bus conversion. The sleek interior looks ultra-modern, and now Caleb is helping others build out their own buses. How cool.

Because of his job, he has tons of solar power and battery banks to make sure they rarely run out of juice. The bus also includes a bathroom with two shower heads, so they never *have* to go outside or at a campground.

Best of all, their son Phoenix is getting all the amazing experiences that Caleb never had as a kid. Check out the full video tour with Tiny Home Tours below!

This awesome family of three was tired of the 9 to 5 and stay-at-home life, so they decided to try out bus life instead! They didn’t go into debt while converting their rig, and because of that they’re able to live off some Etsy income and part-time seasonal jobs they pick up on the road as they go.

That lifestyle allows them to spend large chunks of time enjoying travel and seeing the country. They homeschool, and son Will has an awesome bunk and toy closet to keep all his treasures. While they originally had built-in benches in the bus, they traded those in for a comfy couch. They also removed their wood-burning stove after finding it more frustrating than helpful.

Tiny Home Tours interviewed the family and did an awesome tour of their bus, which you can enjoy below. Follow the family on Instagram here.

When his Marine life ended abruptly, Johnny and his wife, Shiang-ling, jumped into converting an amazing school bus into their home-on-wheels. It’s been more than two years now, and the family of six is still enjoying their mobile lifestyle.

As one of 11 kids himself, Johnny took great care to make sure each of his kids has special space for their personal belongings — from a desk with hidden storage, to their own bunks with little fans, movable lights, and under-bed clothing storage.

Shiang-ling is a budding herbalist and studying permaculture, so their bus home has all kinds of room for her tinctures, canning, and cooking. You’ll love the video tour done by Tiny Home Tours, which you can watch below! Follow the family on Instagram.

This family of three travels in their DIY mini bus conversion, “Fern 2” — a near-duplicate of the couple’s first bus conversion named Fern. Fern 2 became home after Mande and Ben added son Sawyer to the family.

The tiny bus includes a portable toilet in the closet area, and an outdoor shower set-up you’re sure to envy. The inside of the bus is absolutely impeccable, with bright colors and clean lines that make it feel much larger than it really is. Instead of building in a bed for Sawyer, they found a small pack and play to set up which they can take down as needed. Brilliant!

Tiny Home Tours did a great interview with the couple (Mande is a school teacher and Ben fixes boats) which you can watch below! Follow them on Instagram here.
