This is the story behind the now famous and magical Fortune Cookie Tiny House on Wheels built by Abel Zyl for one of his very first tiny house clients.
It all started at a coffee shop with a sketch of the design to which Abel’s client immediately accepted. Towards the end of the video tour, Abel even shows you how he designed and built this tiny house too! It’s a really great video and I think you’ll enjoy it a lot.
You don’t have to love Zyl Vardos’ newest build, the Fuchsia, but it’s pretty hard not to.
Never one to commit to the ordinary, Abel Zyl’s freshest design embodies springtime with it’s sunny green and burnt orange trim, and absolutely spectacular roof life. Walk inside the dutch door and you’ll find a spacious interior with a loft bedroom accessible by funky handcrafted steps, a bathroom and kitchen to meet your needs, and a large living area for relaxing and entertaining.
It’s already gone home to its new owners in California, who I’m sure love their house even more than I love looking at it! Get Zyl’s contact information below.
I think there’s a general consensus on Tiny House Talk that Abel Zimmerman Zyl, of Zyl Vardos, is a master tiny house craftsman. Therefore, we should all be excited for his newest build, Belinda’s Little Bird!
The home features stunning french doors, no loft, tons of storage and a beautiful tiny Hobbit wood-burning stove. He finished it just recently, thus it’s snow-covered exterior! Abel said the house is now on a farm in Pennsylvania. Perfect!
It’s true! If you’ve seen his homes, you’ll know Zyl is a master craftsman, so getting to pick his brain every week is a real treat. Last week he spent an hour answering questions like how to make your exterior siding last and how many tiny homes he’s built. He also discussed how to seal the bottom of your tiny house, why nails can be better than screws, and why he doesn’t use much steel in his builds. Bonus: See his farm! You get all that (and way more!) for completely free.
If you have a question for him for next week, head over here to post your questions in the comments. Be sure to subscribe to his channel so you don’t miss anything.
