Tiny houses aren’t just for living. They can also be for hobbies and careers too. That’s why this husband helped build a tiny writing cottage for his author wife.
She’s an author of several books and desperately needed space of her own to create a distraction-free environment from her family, dog, phone calls, and everything else that was interrupting her from her writing projects.
Lucky for her, her husband is an artist in his own right. A very talented carpenter. And he was willing to help her dreams come true as you’ll see below.

Guest Post – WWOOF Gypsy Caravan Tiny House by Bianca Voyer
We are a fruit orchard and alcohol maker in Quebec, Canada. We’ve decided last year to start participating with WWOOF.
WWOOF is an organization where people from around the world decide to come help on farm while getting to discover a new country.
We host them, giving them somewhere to live and something to eat and in exchange they work with us in the orchard for 5 days a weeks, 5 hours a day and then they have 2 days of break to visit our country.

Right now I wanted to show you this awesome DIY mobile micro cabin also known as a gypsy vardo camper (trailer) that’s for sale with an asking price of just $2500. (UPDATE: SOLD)
It’s hand built with a cedar body, onboard marine battery, two windows, side door with lock, working lights, and canvas awning on a single axle trailer.
In total it has less than 1,000 miles on it according to the listing and measures 5′ wide, 9′ long, and 6′ high. Inside it’s about 4′ high and weighs approximately 750 lbs.

This is the story of a man named Steve who designed and built his very own tiny dome home for only $9,000. It all really started in 2011, when Steve visited his friend in northeast Thailand on their mango farm.
Thanks to his friend and their family’s help, he was soon able to build most of it in only six weeks time for less than $6,000. The details like doors, interior, landscaping, and such took a few more weeks of labor and another $3,000. So all-in-all, it only cost him about $9,000 and less than a few months to complete. And now he gets to enjoy 500 sq. ft. of bliss. Debt-free.

Right now I want to show you this incredible and lightweight Taku-Tanku tiny house on wheels created by Stereotank and Takahiro Fukuda that you can tow with a bicycle, on foot, or even with a boat.
It’s great because it’s designed to be made from two 670 gallon water tanks which of course can be recycled. And, it’s really easy to assemble, too. The tanks are connected by a rectangle of wood.
How about that? A micro home that you don’t have to spend 1-2 years building… And you can tow it with a bicycle if you wanted to!

You probably already know Dan Louche who’s designed and built several tiny houses by now. If you’re not too fond of ladders and lofts, I think you’ll appreciate this one. Update: Sold.
Today I’m showing you his latest. It’s a 160 sq. ft. studio tiny house and it’s available for sale right now as I write this.
It’s 20′ long and approximately 8’6″ wide. Inside you’ll find a full kitchen, pull out mattress, full bathroom, and more.

Whether van dwelling and bus conversions are your thing or not I think you’ll still enjoy looking at Ryan Lovelace’s DIY 1948 Chevy bus to tiny home conversion.
He took this old funky bus and made it into a mobile micro home and you can see all of his personal touches inside.
With a tiny kitchen, a sleeping loft/pod and a small wood burning fireplace this is totally ready for full time simple living.
There are so many windows that bring in the natural sunlight and it looks like he even added an indoor gutter to hold various plants inside. Very creative.

This morning I found out about another DIY tiny home on wheels called the Tiny Blue House so I wanted to share it with you.
It has a standard pitch roof with a side door entrance and it now sits in what seems to be the perfect little plot of land for simple living in a tiny home.
Another feature you might like is that they added space inside by building over the tongue of the trailer where you can enjoy better views of the outdoors thanks to the windows on all sides.
