This is a 107-square-foot off-grid tiny house that was built for only $2,500 using mostly reclaimed materials.
It was built with the help of 15 people working together to make it happen and it features a unique geodesic dome window.
When you go inside, you’ll find a living area with a couch and workstation and an upstairs sleeping loft. Since this tiny home is located within a community, the owner has chosen to use the communal kitchen and bathroom on the property.

This is a 67-square-feet recycled tiny house built for only $420.
It’s built on privately owned land where residents are developing their own DIY community.
Residents get to use the land for free in exchange for developing it with other structures, farming, and more. In the future, we believe more vacant land owners will allow this sort of arrangement. While volunteering at a cold-weather shelter near my home in Grand Forks, British Columbia, I was consulted about designing transitional housing for the homeless. After some discussions with the staff and guests at the shelter I went home to draft some floor plans that I thought might meet the housing needs of the homeless, with dignity, at a low initial cost.
I was then struck by my incredible hypocrisy. Here I was living in a typical 1200-square-foot house – how could I possibly know what would be required for someone to live in a Tiny House?
I asked myself, “What would be the very smallest space that I could live in with pride and comfort?”
It’s now one year later – in seven months of leisurely construction and frantic downsizing I have built and moved into, my 125-square-foot tiny house on wheels. I am irrationally happy in my new home, and I now feel somewhat qualified to suggest some design considerations for small living spaces.

This is the Tiny Surf House in Florida.
Outside, you’ll notice it’s a 224 sq. ft. tiny house that’s built on top of an oversized garage.
When you go inside the tiny home, you’ll find a studio-style floor plan with a pull out bed that doubles as a couch, a full kitchen, bathroom, and an upstairs sleeping loft.
In addition, the roof of the garage is used as ample outdoor space. Pretty awesome, isn’t it?
