Brittany and Jay are the proud owners of their ultimate overlanding truck camper, which allows them to off-road and boondock for up to two weeks at a time. They use Starlink, a generator, and extra propane/fuel storage to let them stay on the trails and still work “normal” jobs.

Because Jay was formerly a chef, having an epic outdoor kitchen — and a smoker — was essential as they outfitted their home on wheels. While it’s certainly a tiny space, they do most of their living outdoors.

Johnny recently upgraded to a detachable truck camping bed to enhance his adventure sports travels. A couple of years prior, he hopped on the nomadic life train by building out a shuttle bus conversion to pursue adventure sports. And while that setup worked, he decided the bus-plus-car was too long, and he wanted something he could get around with more easily.

That led him to a truckbed camper that he could remove from his flatbed truck when he wanted to get around! This model comes with a bump out that gives his dogs more space to move around the home. So far, he’s loving the upgrade!

In 2020, Anton built out a van conversion, mainly because some of his best friends were jumping into van life, and “you are who your friends are.” Three years ago, he couldn’t even hang a picture, but you’d never know based on the incredible job he did with his custom van conversion.

He chose bamboo for the interior, and while the wood alone cost nearly $6K, it leaves the van with such a professional finish! Anton is a music teacher and now builds luxury vans on the side. Enjoy his incredible van tour below!

Mint Tiny House Company built this standout three-bedroom tiny house on wheels for a family that wanted to prove small living doesn’t mean cramped living. The result is one of the most spatially clever THOWs we’ve ever featured: a 36-foot long, RVIA-certified home with a ground-floor king bedroom, two connected sleeping lofts, a full 1.5 baths, a galley kitchen with a dishwasher, a dedicated home office, and a 36-foot covered deck that nearly doubles the living space. It sits in the sought-after Acony Bell Tiny Home Community in the Western North Carolina mountains near Asheville.

What makes this build particularly instructive for aspiring tiny house owners is how Mint Tiny House Company solved the three-bedroom puzzle without sacrificing quality or comfort. Rather than stacking all sleeping spaces in lofts, they placed the primary bedroom on the ground floor and connected the two upper lofts via stairs — an arrangement that works well for families and anyone who prefers not to climb a ladder to bed every night. The farmhouse aesthetic, exposed ceiling beams, and shiplap-style exterior give the home a warmth that many THOWs trade away for a more modern look.

For anyone studying what’s possible with professional tiny house construction, this home is a masterclass in layout efficiency and finish quality.

Maybe you disagree, but I don’t think I’ll ever tire of looking at Hobbit Holes! Each has unique features, but all call back to the source material with round doors, wooden accents, and a warm and cozy vibe.

This one in Tennessee is no exception. The 360-square-foot space is a great spot to unwind and unplug. There’s no TV or internet access, but “The Hobbit” and “Lord of the Rings” trilogy are available indoors. A queen bed, kitchen, and bathroom with a stone shower stall provide all you need for a weekend getaway. What do you think?

While we love showing off budget builds and how creative people can be with just a little bit of money and a lot of heart, sometimes it’s fun to see what tiny can look like when you aren’t worried about the bank account. This luxury rig from Off Highway Van is their newest design called the “Davey Jackson.” It comes on both a 144 or 170-inch wheelbase, depending on how much room you want.

Designed to go just about anywhere, these rigs have all the best off-grid specs and incredible bells and whistles for nomadic life. And the 170 even allows for a pop-up shower stall or a built-in wardrobe. You can sleep up to 5 people in this rig, with the folding bench seats and even a swivel seat conversion. It starts at $199,999. Check it out below!

Scott has been surfing on this famous California beach for 50 years and has plenty of experience with boats and RVs, so when the rules about the size of vehicles allowed on the beach changed, he decided to downsize. He wasn’t planning on building something himself, but with the shutdowns of 2020, he decided to take on the project.

And wow! He did a great job. His stealth box truck tiny house has a full-sized bed, an L-shaped couch on an electric lift that houses his electrical system, a separate bathroom with a boat toilet and shower stall, and excellent under-floor storage so he doesn’t have to clutter the space with overhead cabinets. Enjoy!

Look at this stunning 24-foot tiny house built in Florida by Craftsman Tiny Homes. This bright blue tiny home has two lofts, one of which you can get to via a storage staircase. The other loft is over the cozy living room space.

A galley kitchen takes up the center of the tiny house, and a small bathroom fits in the very back. The house is all pine inside, which gives it a cozy cabin feel. You can purchase it for $74,900.

Joey’s story isn’t one you’d expect — he nailed the “dream job” of working in mechanical and biomedical engineering for the FBI in Washington, D.C. — and then realized it wasn’t for him! He got a different job working as a software engineer that ended up going remote in 2020 — and before he knew it, Joey was buying and converting a van.

He’s lived in the van you’ll see below for three years on and off. In the “off” time, he’s been backpacking around the world, living even more simply than he does in his rig. He designed it to stand up to all kinds of weather, and just wait until you see the neat way he included a shower, closet, and pantry into his home on wheels.
