Turns out, old mills make great tiny homes! This stone windmill in Portugal still has the old gears that made it function up in the bedroom, along with vaulted wooden ceilings that make you feel like you’re hidden away in a fairytale tower.
But even if the stone looks rather Medieval, the accommodations are not. There’s a full bathroom, a kitchenette with a cooktop and fridge, and even a cozy fireplace for cool nights. You can eat outdoors and look out at the breathtaking countryside.

Brittany had all the normal stuff — a spouse, a house, and a business she was successfully running. But she got divorced and later met a couch surfer whose life she was envious of. He called her out, saying she could do what he was doing and travel the world. So she sold her house, sold her share of the business, and took off on a backpacking world tour for two years!
Eventually, she wanted a little more stability and built out a van. The van had so many mechanical issues, however, that she decided to get a new one — and this time she got something newer and professionally built out by Dave and Matt Vans. The build is gorgeous! Enjoy the tour below.

Ray had always been fascinated by the concept of van life, so when it started gaining popularity on YouTube, he started showing his wife Nancy videos to see if she was interested. When she fully retired, she jumped on board with the idea. While they have two stationary homes (one in Hawaii and one in Idaho), they love using this luxury van to travel.
It took about 3 years to DIY their rig, and all told they spent $220K including the cost of the van. They spared no expense and have the best of the best inside — and it shows! Check out this amazing rig below.

Adam proved to his boss one vacation that he was able to get as much work done away from the office as he could at work, so his job became remote. This allowed Adam and his wife Janelle to sell their house and buy a camper to start traveling more. Their original camper was too small for them, so they later purchased this amazing 1982 Silver Streak vintage camper.
While they knew it was going to be a project, they didn’t anticipate just how much of an overhaul it would need. The water damage seeped in everywhere, forcing them to peel things back to the studs and rebuild it all. Despite the work, they were able to create a truly awesome little home on wheels!

This might be one of the most modern tiny homes we’ve seen from MitchCraft Tiny Homes, but it’s proof positive that MitchCraft can do sleek and minimal! Casey’s gooseneck THOW has it all, and it’s done with amazing craftsmanship.
I’m not sure if my favorite part is the pebble-tiled floor in the bathroom with a walk-in shower and stone sink, or the netted lounge space over the cozy living room. There’s also a gooseneck bedroom with a washer and dryer and tons of clothing storage, and the kitchen features a gorgeous farmhouse sink.

Cora and Tyler were looking for a more cost-effective way to travel and ended up stumbling upon a 1986 Volkswagen Westfalia in excellent condition. It saved them the trouble of doing a whole conversion, and while Cora didn’t love the Westy at first, it grew on her.
Having a van has allowed Cora, who has muscular dystrophy, more access to nature. They do hope to convert something larger in the future that would give them space to cook standing up and have a bathroom. Enjoy the tour!
