Melanie is a National Spokesperson for the Tiny House Alliance USA, and the author of “Trailblazing Tiny: A Guide to Breaking Free.” She and her husband live — legally — in a tiny house on wheels that sits on an acre homestead.

They built their 144 sq. ft. tiny house in just seven days with the help of three other people at an Incredible Tiny House workshop back in 2018. Now they are enjoying a peaceful life outside the rat race — raising chickens, growing veggies, and spending less than $300/month on a land mortgage and utilities! We got to interview Melanie about her tiny life below, so be sure to read that after the photo tour.

Below, Cyrus takes us on a tour of his self-built 4×4 Fuso FG which he lives in full-time. But this is far from his first van! Cyrus says he has lived in every kind of VW bus except the Syncro and has been dreaming of this box truck rig for more than a decade.

He works on the road helping others fix up their vans and buses out of the awesome workshop he has tucked under one of the beds inside his truck. His bus has big windows, a penthouse tent, an awesome solar system, and lots of space for entertaining. Enjoy seeing all the details below!

For the past four years, Brian and Anne have been loving their RV life in a Class A Entegra Aspire motorhome which they have done minimal updates to. The spacious rig is “glamping” for Anne, who told Brian early in their relationship that she would *not* be camping.

The two had enjoyed vacationing on their sailboat for many years and were debating doing that lifestyle full-time, but ultimately Anne admitted that she’d rather stay on land. They work full-time while traveling, but still managed to move 40 times last year, staying around a week in each location they traveled.

Life doesn’t always go the way we plan, and that was the case for Nick and Shannon. An exciting business opportunity didn’t go as well as they hoped, and their choices were to either move in with Shannon’s parents or jump into vanlife. They chose the van.

The 2021 ProMaster conversion makes plenty of space for a kitchen, since Nick was a professional chef for many years and loves to cook. They also prioritized ways to get WiFi for Shannon’s business and a comfortable spot for their three full-sized dogs. Enjoy the tour!

Shelby and Shane were working long hours and just barely able to make ends meet, so they decided it was time to make a change. They found this box truck already converted by a couple who decided to settle down, and jumped at the opportunity. While they miss things like an oven to cook in, they are happy with their newfound financial freedom.

The increase in free time has allowed Shelby to start an embroidered bracelet business, and Shane works part-time doing a normal job and has also dabbled in spoon carving! Great for them! Enjoy the tour below.

When Rob and Karen first decided to travel North America instead of paying high property taxes and utility bills, they set off in a motorhome looking for the right vehicle. This old oil field truck they found was much tougher than an RV, and had a great box on the back, which they gutted and transformed.

The home has a deep sink, recirculating shower, and a special oven for making custom pizzas! But one of the coolest features is the elevator bed that comes down and has custom backrests, so they can lounge and watch TV or read. How does this retirement look to you?

Becca & Jason built an amazing high-tech, ultra-light truckbed camper complete with a California King-sized Bed and actuating solar panels to provide enough power for their amazing electrical setup.

They had a van build before this, but they wanted something that could off-road better. While their truck camper has a lot more restrictions in terms of weight and size, they found it much easier to design something that was square rather than scribing everything for a curved van. Enjoy the amazing tour below.

Hayley and Jake got their first taste of vanlife on a vacation to Iceland, where they traveled in a minivan for two weeks. When they got home, they grabbed a prebuilt 1985 campervan for traveling, but decided they’d love something more personalized if they were going to live on the road full-time.

Below you’ll see their Ram Promaster conversion, which was made exactly the way they wanted it with lots of counterspace, a hidden shower set-up and a fixed bed with storage underneath. Let us know what you love about it in the comments!
