Check out this 236 sq. ft. zen teahouse that can easily be a backyard office or guest retreat.

The owner of the zen teahouse was a internationally known architect, Pietro Belluschi, who was known during his lifetime for designing skyscrapers and churches with steeples in Portland, Oregon.

His son, Anthony Belluschi, has now restored the original 1944 tiny house into what you see below.

Pietro used to use it for reading architect plans, drafting, napping and as a simple getaway in his own back yard.

Inside the zen teahouse you will find three defined sections that are separated by sliding shoji screen doors.

This is to separate the kitchen from the bathroom and living/sleeping area.

Would you make a backyard office like this? Or could you live in a space like this full time?

This 10′ x 12′ Studio Shed is used as a backyard office by a father who now telecommutes to work (works his job from home).

So he set out to design and build his own office in his own backyard with the help of the people at Studio Shed.

The design you are looking at is the 10×12 Lifestyle Model. It has a corrugated steel roof, metal siding, windows, french doors, and a completely finished interior.

The structure is 200 feet away from his off grid home with its solar and wind power systems. Plus there’s a generator on site for backup. All of this easily powers his new office. Pretty cool, right?

Please enjoy and re-share this awesome off grid office shed/cabin below. Thank you.

Just for fun I thought you might like this 64 sq. ft. micro cabin that is actually used as a sauna.

Yes, a sauna, but in Finland and other places in Europe having a sauna outside is a social thing.

The architects designed it for a client who wanted it during the winter months because it’s great after a sweaty run or after jumping in icy cold lake water. Plus it’s small enough that it can be moved on a sledge.

I’m thinking this would make a great private space for reading/writing/meditation? But if designed right, this micro cabin could even make the perfect tiny living space. Let’s take a look.
