We were commissioned by an author and illustrator to design & build a ’Writer’s Shed’. Capitalising on our multi-disciplinary backgrounds, we acted as designers, project managers, and lead contractors.

The design responds to the client’s passion for children’s literature and mythologies. The space is conceived as a haven in the city; a fairy-tale hut at the bottom of the garden where the client can retreat and immerse himself in his work.

Can’t understand why the stove pipe is bent at an angle. Trying to get more heat because of extra surface area than going straight up?

…. Since the angle matches the roof line and the book shelving exactly I’d say it was probably a design choice and not a function choice

Not a huge fan of how the desk is so small when that was the entire point and they removed it to stage most of the photos!

Possibly the photos were taken at different times and the desk simply wasn’t there some of those times.

I love his writer’s shed, what a great idea for a retreat! It’s very whimsical and a great place to escape to create writing a best seller or novel. Hats off to the author for an awesome idea!! Carol?

    I love it!

But…I see entries, such as this one on this page: “Tiny and luxurious backyard office for sale” filed under “Backyard Offices”. The problem is, when I click on the menu, there’s no backyard offices category.

I’m especially interested because I have a small garage that’s too small for anything but a compact car, but would be perfect for a backyard office–and I’d like to be able to look through the entire category.

You know, Dick, I never realized that! I always file things in there but you are right. Here is a search for backyard offices, though, that should pull up anything in that category 🙂 https://tinyhousetalk.com/?s=backyard+offices

I like this, especially for my jewelry making and crafts. Oh, the storage I could have! I would make the closet into a bathroom, add a kitchenette and be all set. Love how it looks at night, all lit up.

The seperation between the wood, allowing one to see in…. Different but would make me very uncomfortable…:(

Haha ya I’m with you on that. I LOVE the look of it aesthetically, but I am paranoid hehe.

If this is the shed, I want to see the house….! Because all you really need to make this viable for long term living, is a bathroom with shower at least, and you got a great tiny house….! It’s simplicity in style is very hard to dislike as you can see thru it’s photos….

Yes it wouldn’t take much! And it would make a stunning home.

Hi! We don’t actually sell tiny homes here, we just feature homes sold by others.
