Woman Who Raised 3 Children in her DIY Tree House in Miami

This is one woman’s amazing DIY tree house in Miami where she raised her three children.

Outside, you’ll notice a huge tree with a cozy home tucked inside its strong branches. The farm on which this house is located has many other small huts and structures, so you get a different look depending on what you focus on.

When you go inside, you’ll find her open-air bedroom. She has a queen bed up against one wall with a railing for safety. The wide roof overhang keeps her dry and she wakes up to the gentle breeze from outside. The main living space has the same open-air feel with similar wide roof overhangs. When you go inside, you’ll find a desk, couch, and a full kitchenette with a sink, refrigerator and a three-burner stove and oven.

Oh no! Zika mosquitoes. No screens. I can’t handle mosquitoe bites. Like the concept but would definitely have screens and probably some kind of a shutter that I could close against the weather.

I think it is amazing that you were able to live and raise children this way. It looks “woodsy” peaceful. Question though, I dread spiders, bugs etc. and what about high winds/hurricanes. How did you manage?

People often have to make do, but to do so in a way that is affordable and cozy is truly admirable.

Those who say it can’t be done shouldn’t interrupt those who are doing it. 🙂
