Lovely. But at nearly $1.6 million? Hmmmm. That’s a lot of loveliness —

I know right? Unfortunately, this one is only for the ultra-rich. But at least we can all look and get inspired by it, maybe use some of the ideas someday.

Point taken – this place has a lot to recommend it that could probably translate to affordable situations. It fits so well into the landscape, set into the hill with the green roof. The rustic exterior combined with the contemporary styling/windows really works. Also the room proportions are in great scale to each other — no cramped spaces.

Makes you wonder why only the rich can afford nice things…Been near here a few times and by water the place is more stunning that a picture can show in calm weather…Stormy weather must be awesome. Lots of expense was hooking up utilities, permitting…Just a guess but the Permits alone were into six figures. Got any Idea of the tax structure for 800′ of Puget Sound on an exclusive Island wood be? One of the best values before the sea rise for quiet/remoteness/view in the USA.

But for just the structure. A lot of great view areas and small but not cramped with the high ceilings, huge bathroom for such a small home. Another view of the kitchen as well as a shot from the shower would be real nice to show Fridge/Cook Top and Washer/Dryer location. A little sterile as presented but that is to individual taste. Be a real shame to see a 9,000 sq.ft. Mc Mansion on this piece of heaven. Should have at least 15 years before the salt water reaches the tree line.

You’re right about the rich but I believe that if enough ordinary people pull together we could do extraordinary things.

        I love your attitude/outlook, Shirley!❤️

A recent price drop of $5,000 makes it in the ballpark! 😉 It is stunning.

I like it all: the essential elegant kitchenette without those unsightly hanging; the bath tub that looks at the landscape ( inevitable it will be to sing a song while you wash yourself ). The beautiful windows. The magic is that looks small out, but inside is spacious.

This is so beautiful and I love the private setting too.

Gabriella you are right on…..You sound like you have a military backround….. With a few good people we can overcome…. make it happen….Jon.

Even tho it is not affordable, it is a joy to see.

From the 1st photo to the 2nd & subsequent photos I was in shock. What a difference! Beautiful inside. I love the table backing up to the sofa with an outside view. Very nice! Thanks; always nice to see.

      Oh, and the bookshelves!!

I know this area well–my husband and I used to go to SJI frequently and scuba dive just up around the corner near Roche Harbor. We talked about buying property up there (back in the late 70’s when we first started going there). Hindsight is always better….now it is totally unaffordable except for the very wealthy. Wish we had done it when a) we were both working and could have afforded it, and b) the prices were but a FRACTION of what they have become. The taxes are also mindboggling too. But I LOVE this little place and the wild setting!

And I love the grass on the roof as well!
Though, personally, I would mix the grass seed with herbs and flowers as well !

1.6 is actually a fair price. My family purchased a home on the Ocean in the early 1960’s
It was approximately $50, 000. It was a lot in those days. The home was a nice on a 8500 sq. ft lot. Today that house is over 2 million.
5 acres on an island. Its never going lose value.

1.6 million dollars… now, let me see… (counting on all fingers and toes) … that would be 45.71 THOW’s at 35K each. Hmmm… tough decision… but, I think I’ll stick with my one THOW idea; it really is the best value for today’s dollar. 😀
