Waterfront Off-Grid Tiny Houses in Quebec

This post contains affiliate links.

These waterfront off-grid tiny houses are in an eco-resort in Rimouski, Québec, Canada.

The resort is called Domaine Floravie and it consists of a total of 7 tiny houses on the shores of the Saint Lawrence River.

Each cabin is off-grid ready. They each have 285 watt solar panels to power the refrigerators and lights. Propane is used for the heater, stove, and water heater.

These tiny cabins are built at 10′ width using local materials, hemp insulation, and natural oil finishes. When you go inside two of the cabins in the video below, Danielle and Mat, of Exploring Alternatives, will show you a model with an upstairs sleeping loft and another version with a bed downstairs. Please enjoy, learn more, and re-share below. Thank you!

The more I see it, the more I think that 10 foot wide is the way to go. Did I mishear or did they NOT mention the length? I’m looking at the no loft version.

Very good video..not a lot of jibberjabber…just the house. Very nice little homes as well. Is it just me or do others not care for the sofa being enclosed due to the porch arrangement? A lenghtwise sofa seems so much more comfortable and appealing. Thanks for showing this nice little community.

Both versions of the tiny houses were very nice!! I like the fact that the ladder locks into place. I would probably pick the one without the loft area. The outdoor views were just gorgeous!! Thank you for sharing your cute tiny homes with me. Carol Perry

Two things I stopped the video for and made a screen print to save for my own use. 1) The gauge that allows you to see how much water you’ve used/have left. I like the wood framed model, not the electric version. 2) The simple locking mechanism on the ladder. I really like the safety feature so the ladder stays in place both while using it and once you’re IN the loft so you’re never faced with having to figure out how to get down because you accidentally knocked it off the rail.
