Van Turned into Beautiful Stealth Sprinter Motorhome

This post contains affiliate links.

Talk about a portable tiny house. This is a fantastic “Stealth Sprinter” turned motorhome.

From the outside, you’d never know this typical-looking van includes a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and living room! When on the road, you’d mistake it for any old business transporting supplies.

When you go inside, you’ll find an entire home with clean white walls and pretty red cushions. There’s a full/queen bed that doubles as couch with a pull-out table, a diesel cooktop, and even a hideaway toilet. The entire van runs on solar, so you never have to plug it in or rely on others during your travel. You can walk around on the vinyl flooring and store necessities underneath the couch benches. Best part? It was all done DIY, so you can do it too!

Please enjoy, learn more, and re-share below. Thank you!

This is one of the best van conversions I’ve seen yet. Great job. Needs windows though but that would defeat the “stealthyness” lol

Great for traveling cross country in, escaping motel/hotel fees and questionable cleanliness therein. I could do that, but I wouldn’t want to stay in it for an extended period of time.

Really awesome. How much did it cost to do that(including all info on van)? Potty looks like my Thetford Campa XG. Got mine for $10 at Salvation Army. Anyway what about a shower?

If I could, I’d rather have someone make it for me – not that young anymore to deal with dust and stuff. I’d use it for short trips to visit family within 12 hours drive time.

Wonder what kind of licensing is mandatory for this kind of DIY vehicle?

How much in materials did it cost and how much labor time went into it?

Beautiful! I take it there is some kind of air exchange system in it. Love the idea of flying under the radar.

Yes, all that and more addressed in the video link. Worth looking at because of the wealth of information provided.

Thanks for the heads up, Robert. As I am interested in the “hows,” I examined the ventilation system (and everything else) on the blog – ingenious! In addition to his imagination and mechanical skills, what a photographer this guy is! Absolutely inspiring. Again, thank you.

What I did is purchased an Espar furnace that hooks up to the engine so you don’t need to run the engine while trying to stay warm.
Who knew that with some creative thought and engineering design, you can have something so beautiful and live in something like your Sprinter.
All the best and safe travels

    Hi Guys
And yet another fantastic method of living “your” way, I love the vast variety of options in THT, but I have to say EVER one that’s featured there are questions from us your readership that go unanswered WHY? surely the point is to stimulate conversation, maximise exposure and entice others to try this type of lifestyle? And if it’s not why not?
In probably 95% of those featured there are VERY real, sensible after reading questions, this time as usual its costs, now we are not stupid we all know products, supplies and labour vary country to country BUT that is NOT an excuse for not supplying a ballpark figure as built in that example surely, or to answer other equally viable ones like How long did it take to build? Again we all know that it might take one man 6 months working nights and weekends, where it light take another 3 weeks at 5 normal working days per week BUT like the costs they add up really to the same thing so an idea on both and possibly other as equally important questions would be a great touch and make your Information stand out from the crowd !

I ditto this entire comment(s)! It is so frustrating to not get the information needed to follow through with knowing the main info. Cost, how to contact person who can direct where one can get conversion. I get so confused that I don’t know where to start. Why is that? M

Well done! The only thing I am missing is a bathroom. Loo only isn’t sufficient. I need my shower and don’t like to brush my tooth at the kitchen sink. But this is a space issue because the Sprinter is too narrow to sleep across.

    Hey Dug,
Follow the link provided to the owner’s web site. Most of your questions are answered there. He not only did an excellent job on the van conversion, he also did and excellent job on documenting the build.

      Hi Gina
My post was a more general one aimed at THT Admin & writers really as I see NO earthly reason why these simple facts couldn’t be included I duly await a reasonable reason as I’ve yet to see it, why have a comments section full of such questions that NEVERTHELESS never get answered but thanks for your comment 🙂

If you buy 50 gallons of fuel, you can use the showers at truck stops for free. Otherwise, pay $10 or so.

I am so glad to finally see that someone has really made a clean contemporary living space. I do want to do this too, but mine will have a full bathroom and kitchen ( using RV materials). I am done paying $130-$150 a NIGHT to stay at a Sleep Inn or lower motel. Motels like groceries have gone nuts, and the fed. gov. does not even have the decency to admit that inflation is running amok for most services and commodities so they can deny cost of living raise to our Soc. Sec.. It will be a miracle if those 62 and up can retire anymore, and GOD forbid our young USA folk are doomed to work till they are 70 to retire if that. Soc. Sec. will be cut by 25% mandatorily in the year 2034, don’t believe me,–go to SSA.gov and check it under the retirement tab ( not enough in the fund). Save your money!!! An example of inflation: Progresso Canned soup at Walmart in last 1.5 years: was $1:48—-jumped to $1.68–and now just jumped to $1:98 for one stinking can which does not taste all that good anyway ( still better than Campbell’s soup – yuck). Everything else is doing the same. God Bless.

Not only do they raise the price but there’s been quite a bit of size decrease. 16 oz becomes 15 oz, etc.

I’ve seen a lot of posts lately harshly criticizing typos and DEMANDING answers on THT and such. As I see it the creators of this excellent site and newsletter probably have other jobs and writing gigs and may not have the time or ability to pay staff to moderate every single comment on every single post all the time, not including repeated questions. Including the time and cost parameters of each project is a great suggestion surely! but may I kindly suggest be inspired and self-sufficient in your research, and email the originators of the projects if you must have all the brass tack details. There’s loads of info out there. Just a casual lurker, just remarking…

Looks great. I’ve been living in a sprinter van for a year an a half. They are awesome stealth campers. I spent about 70,000 for the van and the conversion w solar. Worth the money spent on rent/ mortgage.

I don’t understand the whining about details or lack there of. All the information is available to look at. Follow the web site link. Reading the posts from people who want more info is like watching some in the desert dying of thirst because no one told them to open their mouth when it rained.
