This is great news! I’m happy to hear about new Tiny Home communities being created. I’m looking to retire within the next 2 years and what a beautiful place to retire to! Congrats on getting this started!

Bravo! I love hearing that more locations for tiny houses are being created.

Am looking to build tiny in 2017. Live in Fort Collins now but having a place to park is huge! Add me to your contact list and I will keep you posted on my progress. So glad to hear of someplace in NoCo!

Great ideas, and I used to live in Colorado so I know how beautiful it can be.

BUT – are you making accomodations for physically handicapped people, temporary or permanent? Wider doorways, ramps instead of steps, access to kitchen appliances? And bars in various places in bathrooms?

I sure hope you think about it.

Add us to your contact list! Just waiting on approval from our company building our trailer, then our construction begins!!!

  • Marc Atwood October 16, 2015, 11:38 am

I really like the concept. How about something in between an over priced yuppie community in Colorado and a trailer park in the good ole southern states! I don’t want to sound like an old bigot, but where are the options for a affordable, year around small home living?

    • Cindy November 7, 2015, 4:39 pm

At the moment, I am acquiring the land to begin a Tiny House Community in Southern California, if anyone is interested in joining me, I have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help with expansion expenses. http://www.gofundme.com/hv9es5nk

You would be required to build your own tiny home but you won’t be alone and you would have a place to stay while it is being built. It will be set up for organic farming, no religious tone; to each their own, communal kitchen and dining area, outdoor showers for the summer time, etc…

  • Renee Benmeleh October 18, 2015, 2:53 pm

    hi,

this is great news. Wonder if you can share anything about zoning?

here in the Bay Area we are getting nowhere with that issue. I am imagining that since its off in the mountains, the zoning laws are different. Curious to hear about any part of your process around that.

    All the best!

    Renee

What am I missing? That is expensive property rent… Just saying and needs to be more “sustainable”

  • mim October 21, 2015, 12:31 pm

what a bunch of complainers…..these are exactly the kind of people that a tiny house community does not need….
$400 a month for renting a space for your tiny home in a community of like minded people is cheap and sustainable even in the south and this is near boulder….try buying land and you will stop complaining….
build or buy your tiny home with whatever you need….ramps bars wider doorways etc…..and then pay just $400 a month to park it….amazing!!!!

    • kat June 26, 2016, 11:32 am

$400.00 a month would be great…but it you go back and actually read it, it’s only $400.00 a month while it’s off grid and you are building. After it’s completed and all services hooked up then the prices will go up. They are also building houses to sell starting @ $60,000 and up or renting them (weekly/monthly) starting @ $800. That’s seems pretty expensive for a tiny home and I’m from the Chicago suburb area even.

Sorry I clicked (REPORT COMMENT) that was a mistake!! so sorry!
        I liked the (comment).
I’m from Chicago too for the last 20 years and cant wait to leave. Love the city but looking for more affordable living as I am a single woman in 50’s and am so concerned about retiring. I can’t afford to live by myself.
I was hoping the tiny home would be an option but the more I read, the more I’m discouraged.
People go through losing jobs and divorces. As they age they may not get or have a high paying job and are almost at poverty level. Though hard working. Not everyone has a great pension or retirement plan. We can’t find affordable living in a nice place. Which many of us are use to!
The $800 is the same as an apartment. Plus you have to buy your own tiny home which you probably need to take a loan out for.
Am I missing something? $800 may not sound bad for some of you but don’t judge! we have bill’s too, we will need to buy food and clothing and may want to have fun too.

Ahhh….any news on this boulder community?..or did yet another tiny house community go up in smoke?

    • Caitlyn June 4, 2016, 2:49 pm

I’m wondering as well.. I contacted both Alex and “KC” the person who wrote the article a few days ago and neither have contacted me back about it, so I’m assuming the project never went through..

  • Lori August 9, 2016, 1:54 pm

I am a single Mom of a 6 year old. Is there a school close by and could you build a 2 bed/1 bath for us. If so, what’s the cost for something like that? Are there other kids in your community? This is greatly needed for the single Moms out there!!!

    Thanks,
    Lori

  • Joy August 12, 2016, 1:14 pm

  • Casey Loftus August 23, 2016, 4:24 pm

Is the community going to be to zoning/county code and allow for off-grid “camping”? This is the issue we have often run in to, and for curiosity’s sake I want to make sure if we pursue further interest, it would be legal and allowable by code so that we did not invest to just be told down the road that we had to leave. Thanks for any info you can provide!

If this page no longer contains applicable information – or this opportunity has been discontinued, it would be a good service to remove this page. Thank you.

  • Kyle LaBarre September 22, 2016, 7:45 pm

I have not been able to find out any other information about this and when I followed the link provided to Craigslist it shows as a non-working site. I work for a Tiny house community called Peak View Park in Woodland Park, CO. It’s a mountain town about 30 minutes west of Colorado Springs and currently we one of two Parks that it is legal to live in a tiny house permanently in Colorado. (That I am aware of)

We have about 20 tiny homes already in the park and have about 25 lots still available. Feel free to contact me with any questions!

  • Larissa Briscombe September 23, 2016, 11:43 am

    Alex,
