From the builder:

The Unita is the longest of our cottages at 24 feet. We started with the Ynez, redesigned the kitchen, lengthened the shed dormers, added a Tansu stair, and introduced a gable roof above a side entry. The eight-foot kitchen counter is flanked by an abundance of under-stair storage, as well as a full height refrigerator/freezer, oven compartment, and easy loft access.

You also have ample space at the aft end of the cottage for a twin or daybed for an additional sleeping or lounging area.

Beautiful tiny house. I love the space and hominess feel to it. The staircase is great. Thanks for sharing!

I really liked having drawers rather than open shelves 🙂 Makes it easy to have a “junk drawer” and hide my clutter hehe.

This could be PERFECT for me… any chance of slide outs? (I need to be able to put a piano in my house.)

From the looks of the layout plan, it looks good and well built. Lots of head room in the loft and a gradual slope of the stairwell, which is easy to climb. Love all the storage spaces put in this TH. Two thumbs up!

Yes the storage made this super attractive to me 🙂

It is most definitely a nicely finished THOW, but, for 24 feet and it ‘starts’ at $62K? I didn’t see even a small sink in the bathroom or on the plans and for that price (as much as I try to support the environment as much as I possibly can) I would want a regular toilet.
I like the practicality and design of the storage stairs, the hand rail, etc. I would like to see more pics, such as the living area and pics of the kitchen opposite to the storage stairs.

Believe it or not composting toilets can be pretty expensive! I actually think it might be less expensive to do RV plumbing, but then you always have to be hooked up.

Hi Natalie, you can install a standard toilet with plumbing & RV style cleanout for $250 or less all day long in the Florida (no holding tank). So yeah, quite a bit cheaper than a commercial composting toilet. For versatility & eco friendly, I’d choose a composting toilet every time, even a home made one if price was a concern.

You’re stating the obvious JB… we all know that the zoning laws need to change. But this is more like a home and not the tin can quality of a “trailer!”

The idea of a “home,” with more substance, has a lot more appeal for many of us than your trailer notion. Maybe thats why its referred to as the tiny house movement?

I am in a band… and have an electronic piano. I have the piano my grandmother had. It’s an upright grand… a wonderful, gorgeous, beautiful sounding instrument… that I can’t give up.

Well there would be a few changes to this home if I had one built. First I would put in a RV toilet. Next the hand rail on the other side of the stairs like a real house has . I would put the window in bathroom be hide the toilet. The access door for the utilities to be on the out side. where the window in bathroom I would put a small sink. Would love to see pictures of the living space. Plus a mini split unit.
