This post contains affiliate links.

I wanted to show you the possibilities today with this 18’x24′ two-story Dutch cabin with a 6′ porch.

It’s built by The Amish Barn Company in Oneonta, New York as a barn but I’m sure you can see the tiny cabin potential below.

Just imagine what you can do with a cabin shell like this. And there are even more options to look at on their website and their Facebook. Please enjoy and re-share below.

I love this house. having lost my house & shop in 2008’s crash, this company is right up my alley. Thanks for finding this company.

This is so livable! I live in a 16 x 28 cabin and this would be a step up for me. I wish they were in California, not NY. Drat.

This looks a lot like some of the really cool buildings Home Depot has in there stores. Not sure if the quality is as good, but might be worth a look.

Especially like the stairway in lieu of a ladder.

Amish cabins are great. If you are looking for a way around building codes, these a perfect.

“I am building a garage. I plan to build the house later. So I’m just going to have one of these amish garages build on my land.”

You get the permit, they give you the C.O. upon completion….then you go in and do whatever you want to it.

Ha ha. I have neighbors who have lived in their two car garage for almost five years while “waiting to build the house.” Of course we’re in a rural area where most people mind their own business. Plumbing is where the property assessor tends to get you. Never been challenged, though, as sometimes barns do have wash-up areas. I LOVE this barn, lots of room, and the porch just makes it so much nicer.

Depends on where u live…anything within our city or village limits has to have permits inspections on every aspect inside and out. Currently living in the country but my township still has the same regs. Hth

Alex had posted one of these from Florida like that. He built his garage waiting yo build the home, still waiting. 🙂
He had the added benefit that they would let him put in a full bath. He’s all set. I think it was 24’x24′. Nice lot, nice neighborhood, no mortgage! The house? Still waiting….

I would like to know how to purchase this exact item. I really want to live in a shed. I can’t find it on the website linked, and I was wondering how to get it?

Hi Tia — I would contact them directly and ask if they still sell this model. This post is from 2014 so it’s possible it’s discontinued.
