This February 7-8, 2015 Tumbleweed is hosting a tiny house workshop in Colorado Springs, Colorado and if you’re thinking about going this post will help you figure out if it’s a good decision for you or not because these sort of events aren’t really for everybody.
I find that one of the most valuable parts about going to a workshop or any event like this are the people you get to meet because it’s not very often that you get to be in a room with 30+ like-minded people to hang out and exchange ideas with. Besides that it’s definitely that huge amount of knowledge you get from the instructor in such a short period of time.
It’s incredible how much people are able to help each other out with their concerns just by getting together. I’ve had some great times at the workshops I’ve been to and I’ve learned a lot from them too. But what about you? Will you get enough value for the money out of one of these events? Continue reading below and I’ll be glad to help you figure that out.

Who This Workshops Is Not For
These workshops aren’t for you if you’re expecting to see, tour and build a tiny house on wheels in person because this doesn’t always happen (although sometimes someone does bring a tiny house on wheels to Tumbleweed workshops it’s just not a guarantee). However, the instructors usually do bring props, photos, illustrations, and have loads of knowledge and experience to share with you. If you take notes and pay attention, you’ll definitely gain a lot of insights in a short amount of time.
Your Tiny House Questions Answered
On top of getting to meet other people who are also into tiny living you also get to ask your own questions in regards to the designing, building, and living processes. Again, in order to take full advantage I encourage you to be prepared to take notes the entire time you’re there.
Who This Event Is For
If you’re new to construction this workshop will leave you with a foundation knowledge on how a tiny house on wheels is designed and built from the ground up. If you’re interested in going tiny and want to learn more about the lifestyle this is also a great way to figure out how to design, build and live tiny. Tumbleweed workshops have given many the confidence and base knowledge to start and finish their own tiny house project. The event gives you the principles and information on how to build a stick-built home, how to attach a stick-built structure to a trailer, and so much more.
