Tumbleweed Bodega House Plans

This is the Bodega House. It’s an original Jay Shafer Tumbleweed Houses design.

Back in the day, it was called the Bodega. Today, it’s listed as Plan 915-4 by Tumbleweed Tiny House Company and it’s available as a purchasable plan over at HousePlans.com. This cozy cottage includes a full bedroom, fireplace, bathroom, and kitchen. But if you want, you can build a smaller or larger version of it. Below, it’s shown as a studio cottage with an upstairs loft. But you can choose to build-out a rear add-on which would be your main-floor bedroom. Nice, right?

261-sq.-ft. or 356-sq.-ft. Cottage

It’s a 261 square feet home with the option of adding an extra bedroom which would expand it to 356 square feet.

Estimated material costs were $22,000 to build this home (circa 2010) and please note that this is a small house and it is NOT designed to be built on a trailer. If you’re interested in tiny houses on wheels, see how THOWs and Tiny Houses sections.

Anyway, this Bodega cottage would make for a great guest house or as your main tiny home to build on your own lot, wouldn’t it? What do you think?

Nice house. Despite the argument that may ensue from certain quarters, It shouldn’t take more than 160 hours to build and have move in ready. But that’s just the circles that I’d been working with, another build was scheduled and there was no time to dilly-dally. I miss those days.

    Absolutely adorable!

My studio is very similar. It’s nice to see Victorian small house design.

I don't see how he sells anything as you show the houses but not the plans so we can make a decision. Also it is impossible to get on his site.

I think that their website was featured on the front page of Yahoo yesterday so it may have brought their servers down due to an overload of traffic. I hope it will be back to normal soon…
