So what is the price? They didn’t say. I love it but I would make a few changes.

It’s custom, so check out their website for pricing on their models and what options they offer…

I didn’t see a closet or a a/c or heating unit. They didn’t list any.

It’s all shown or mentioned in the video… Mini-Split on the trailer tongue, right next to the propane tanks… You can see the interior unit above the window in the living room area… There’s also an electric heater in the bathroom near the sink… Whole bed area is storage, space between the shower stall and the bed is a tall narrow cabinet that is likely the closet with two drawers beneath it… Bed itself has a hydraulic lift system to easily lift it and access the storage space beneath it… Loft is for storage and can be used to store long term stuff you don’t need to access all the time… The step down at the entrance has two build in drawers as well… Storage above and below the combo washer/dryer…

While you can check out their website for what options they offer for this model, which is based on their Villa series…

What is a pass-through bathroom. Can I have a shower curtain instead of glass doors?

Pass-through means a room that also functions as a connecting room, or hallway, to bridge two different parts of the home, in this case you have to go through the bathroom to reach the bedroom from the main living space…

While it’s a custom build, so whatever the client wants is usually what they’ll do as long as it’s reasonable and within budget…

I’d be interested in renting this if it comes with this view and has been stabilized so it doesn’t fall over.

Well, that shouldn’t be very likely as something that weighs multiple tons and are usually bottom heavy will generally be very hard to make fall over, but if worried about extremes like a hurricane then they can be tied down just like manufactured houses with appropriate anchor points…

Though, Tru Form Tiny is based in Eugene, OR. So most of their builds would be placed somewhere along the west coast to mid state region where hurricanes are pretty rare… While reports of tiny houses in states like Florida, that have weathered multiple storms over the years, show they’re pretty resilient to even that extreme. So usually more of a concern is whether it’s parked in a flood zone or an area that deals with tornadoes or fires…

Sweet little thow, but that toilet next to the beautiful bed is a huge turn off. Lol. I appreciate so much of the detail, and obvious quality that’s gone into it, though!

Agree 100%!! How could they (the clients, or the builder) think this was okay?? A toilet which is basically your nightstand? utterly grotesque!

      • James D.
        February 2, 2022, 12:12 pm

Well, first it’s not actually that close… While connected, the bathroom is still it’s own separate room and while near there’s still a wall between the toilet and the bed with enough room for someone to easily stand between the 2 in the doorway, which can be closed to completely separate the bedroom from the bathroom. So, I can understand the proximity may still bother you but you can’t just reach over and touch it like a nightstand…

Second, it’s not a flush toilet but an Incinerator, which cremates all the waste and you use toilet seat covers that also get incinerated with each use. So, it’s actually more sanitary than a regular toilet, and you’re just near ashes…

Third, people can have different needs and one of them can be for the toilet to be closer to them to avoid worse problems that would better fit the description of utterly grotesque… So it’s something to realize there are worse things that could be what they are avoiding… Especially, as people get older they can have less control over when and where they have to go, and getting up in the middle of the night can be more of a challenge…

Besides, it may be surprising but not everyone will always be that bothered by proximity because in a small space it doesn’t actually matter all that much and practicality, along with convenience, can just matter more to them than trying to pretend a part of the reality of life, which may still gross them out, doesn’t exist just because it’s out of sight or is beyond some imaginary radius… What’s on your bed from just normal use can actually be worse because you spend much more time on it… So cleaning regularly and often is actually what’s important regardless of layout…

Of course, comfort levels will vary, some people will even insist the bathroom be outside to really separate it from the living space, but there are valid reasons why people won’t always do it the same way… You never have to accept that for your home but it’s just something to understand about other people’s homes…

This gave me something to think about. I’d not considered a single story before. Now I’m thinking about what I could do with the roof space being under tall could mean some deck space up there. maybe even some weird and cool hidden storage. a place to put equipment for those outdoor activities. The bedroom being so filled up by a traditional bed. it makes me really think about but what do I need in a bed and can that be handled with something non traditional. which could open the space back up to multi purpose use. Oh I think I like it better than lofts and I really Love a great Loft. ok all kinds of excited to rethink my dream designs. I’m short and the tallest member of my family is 6’4″ so ceiling height to feel space doesn’t need to be the max. Happy dance I get to play around again.

This Tiny is quite lovely! It does still have a couple of challenges that one sees in many Tinies. First, the door isn’t at floor level, requiring a step-down into the living space. Some won’t mind but for an aging population who choose a Tiny to save money and/or be close to family while remaining independent, it could be a tripping hazard or even make it impossible to be there if a wheel chair or walker is needed. Of course, there are models that do take that into consideration so choices early on will influence that. Many of the models with a bedroom downstairs really don’t allow for space around the bed. That can make getting in and out of bed a challenge and changing the sheets when you can’t stand on all sides of the bed is nearly impossible. Even younger people can find it challenging or at least tiring! 😉 And yes, customization is the key to living a successful Tiny life!
