Tropical Tiny House in California

This post contains affiliate links.

I’m excited to share this tropical tiny house with you. I’d love living here, how about you? The private one bedroom guest house is located in Topanga Canyon, California. And it’s available to rent through Airbnb. The surrounding property is lush with greenery, secluded patio areas, hammocks and daybed. I can imagine the daybed out front being very cozy on a lazy afternoon.

Inside the tiny cottage is a living area and open kitchen. The one bedroom is just off from the living room. And the bathroom is awesome because of the rock shower… And don’t miss the outdoor seashell bathtub. The interior walls of the home are a mix of rocks and bamboo weaving. The entire house is not very big however I do not have exact measurements. Please enjoy and re-share below. Thanks!

Scenic and beautiful are the plusses however fires and mudslides are the minuses. http://www.trulia.com/voices/Home_Buying/Why_does_it_seem_most_people_don_t_want_to_live_in-587303

Lovely. While soaking in the tub, one would need to be ready for someone to swing by on a vine!

What a hot mess! It looks so cluttered and hard to move around in. And the jungle aspect can mean only one thing…BUGS!
When going tiny keep it free of clutter, and lighten up the interior! Dark makes it look like a cave!

YOU MUST GO TO THEIR LINK!!!! This place is totally amazing. Nothing I have seen that I am like I want to live there…….but this place oh yea. There is so much including a hot tub and the price per night is really surprising for all of this. I think it would be an awesome little honeymoon spot!

Really? I can’t believe someone would rent this house out ? Talk about clutter…it almost is on the verge of hoarding. It’s taking a tiny house and making it even smaller!!! Then there is the colors. There aren’t any except dark, darker and darkest! Lighten up the walls! White paint is a good choice if you don’t want to feel like your living in a cave!! I guess if you like that Bohemian, messy, dark kind of style then great. But this little house could use a lot of TLC! Not to sure why folks are going gaga over it????

You might not like the way they use the space but or their design choices but focus on the space, it is great! There are positives and it seems you may have missed them. Personally I don’t see clutter, I see a desire to maintain a certain level of comfort and design intended be sure there is a place to stretch out on a couch. That’s cool cause many of these tiny homes don’t have a bedroom where you can stand up and thumbs up on the design! Judge not.

When you have created your perfect space, please make sure to post it for the rest of us to give you such thoughtful feedback! White may “brighten up” a room, but depending on the interior design, it can also come off as a sterile unwelcoming environment. BTW those are predominantly warm colors with a few dark accents and if you think that design boarders on hoarding you had better watch Hoarders to get some real perspective on what hoarding really looks like!

It appears Carmen Spang hasn’t a romantic or imaginative bone in her body, only negative ones. Glad I don’t know her.

Really cute – kinda reminds me of a Gilligan’s Island hut! Although, with just going through our first time ever with bed bugs – I see a lot of cracks and crevices where they’d love to hide. :o( Trust me, after having them, we look at furniture, space under baseboards, etc. in a entirely new way – and not in a good way.

Wow!!!! After reading the air bnb ratings and looking at the pics, I’m really impressed. Not necessarily a place I would build and live in but it would definitely be fun to visit. Kudos to the owner for being so creative, what an awesome way to make extra money!

I admit the jungle safari vibe of the place isn’t my cup of tea either, but it’s a very functional layout that makes good use of the space. I like the way they put the A/V equipment up and out of the way, and the kitchen is just the right size.

I think the “cluttered” feel might come from all the different textures being so closely mingled; there’s really not much in here but the furniture and maybe a couple decorations on the walls.

I actually really like this house. I didn’t think I would, but the indoor/outdoor living appeals to me quite a bit. It is a bit cluttered, but for the setting and type of house it is, that seems to work. I’d love yo go and stay two or three nights just to see how it felt. Thanks for showing us this house.

My first impression was the same as Carmen’s. Then I went to the other site and looked at more pictures. My 2nd impression was that it looked like a refugee camp from a dump site. Everything looked old, worn out, and dirty. I looked over everything again, trying to give this place a positive twist. The conclusion: everything looks old and dingy partly because most of the photos are dark even when taken during the day. The appearance of clutter may be because there are no blank space anywhere for the eyes to rest. I had problems figuring out the layout to decide if I like it or not. I agree it does have a Gilligan’s Island feel to it.

I don’t see the appeal. I can’t even pinpoint a style. Imagine trying to keep this mess clean. I shudder!

I liked it. I would take spme of the bamboo down in the kitchen, but very nice feel. Exotic and primitive but obviously with the amenities.

I love that there’s actual, comfortable furniture to sit on! I have chronic pain and comfortable furniture is a must for me.
