Trinity Tiny by Alabama Tiny Homes

This is Trinity, a tiny house by Alabama Tiny Homes.

She is 28 feet long, 13’4′ tall and 8’5″ wide and features the very popular white-on-dark wood color scheme we keep seeing more of (and keep loving!). But the best and most unique feature of this home is that the staircase is along the back wall of the house. How have we not seen this before? Great idea.

How are the washer and dryer vented?

Search the Internet for VENTLESS washer and dryers and you’ll find your answer! I have a set in my apartment, beats going to a laundromat.

This is one of the best layouts I have seen to date. I really like the way the stairs are at the back of the room (although I would need a handrail) so they do not take up space on the narrow width. The livingroom is lovely as is the bathroom (LOVE that sink). This is very nice!

I totally agree about the stairs! Great design!

Wow, this is a GREAT design for such a small footprint! Real staircase, real bath, and a peninsula kitchen, YAY!. I’m a bit wary about that gap between the loft and the hanging TV. I’m sure that I would want to point out something on the screen and fall down the stairs. I don’t see much closet space either, but that’s a given I suppose. The price isn’t bad for what you’re getting, and it includes the trailer.

Haha I don’t think you’d fall 🙂 But the rest is awesome.

Yes, this is one of the best layouts I’ve yet seen! I love the rear staricase, not robbing space from the width of the house. And the washer and dryer under the kitchen snack bar is wonderful, too! Also, the full kitchen with lots of cabinets and full size appliances is a plus for anyone! Even the twin loft has a ladder “out of the way”, and the bath is stylish while still being compact! Super designing, that’s all I can say. I’m wondering, did a woman come up with this design?

Haha, good question! It really is one of the best layouts for a loft tiny house I’ve seen.

I can tell you as one of the women of our team…James is a genius and the designs are all his! You uses the feedback from the women on his team to develop his designs but he solves problems before we even see them. ?

This is my favorite tiny house so far. It looks more like a real home than most and as I looked at the pictures, I had only one “yeah, but…” thought. I would add cabinet doors to the the washer & dryer area to keep them out of sight when not in use. Very nice!

      January 26, 2017, 8:23 am

So glad it’s your favorite! And cabinet doors are a great idea 🙂

I don’t care for it to much, it’s a bit gloomy for my taste…!

      January 26, 2017, 10:41 am

Yes, that’s true too! It’s got a black ceiling, black floors, heavy black beams, and black siding outside. And good god, the opening to the loft is draped in black. Did somebody die up there? 🙁

But don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater. The design is too good to waste. I’d decorate the house either with a light blue beach theme or sage green spa theme. It would make a world of difference.

Very clever house! The shower is gorgeous, and the layout of the lofts is amazing. That gap between the loft and the wall is probably only 24″ , so its close enough to touch without falling off the loft , I think. I like the kitchen placement and the loft “window” opening to the living area., but those stairs are the crowning touch!

Yes the stairs are so smart!

I do not see a price listed, must be talked about in the You Tube videos. As for reaching the TV, it looks like you could stand at the top of the stairs, which looks to have a base platform there. Kind of hard to tell from the photos. This is a nice home and the stairs at the back end make great sense. Very clever.

Hi Kid — Price is listed in the “Highlights.” Starts at $69,000. I really loved that staircase!

A ha! I finally figured out what I liked about the staircase. In many houses, the staircase is one wall of the living room, so this tiny version looks a lot like the homes we’re used to.

It’s very significant that the staircase fills in the entire wall. It works like built-ins in good houses, where you tuck storage along the wall and into corners so you don’t have to put furniture out in the middle of the room. Tucking those necessary stairs into what is usually dead space frees up a lot of valuable space in the middle, enough to install that sweet sweet kitchen.

          Precisely, Oxide! It’s amazing.

This is beautiful! I love the dark/white combo. The stair placement is awesome. I would have used the underneath as a closet or storage area. And the half ladder to a ‘landing’ for the second loft is genius! Very nice job…if only I had a 69K.
One of the only changes for me would be the glass shower doors. They look lovely, but I’m not a fan.

Please, could you email to me all the design specs, plus pricing, for this Trinity model? Also, what would be the added extras for making it ‘Canadian winter’ ready?
    I absolutely love this layout!!!

I love this. I’m too old to manage a ladder loft, but these stairs are perfect. The twin loft looked like it was completely open over the hallway. Since that’s where visiting grandchildren would sleep, I would put up some sort of safety rail to keep them from falling/jumping down from there.

What a beautifully done tiny house! I looked forward to the video, but it was very poorly done. Just shots and shots of her face and neck rather than the actual tiny house. The still pics gave me enough to know how great it is though! Great work and fantastic design!!

Great tiny house, so much to like here. But like almost all Tiny houses lack storage space. Have seen a few with innovative ideas including floor storage but most do not have enough space to store even a minimal amount of clothing and posessions.

    • Natalie C. McKee
      February 13, 2017, 8:08 am

I suppose that depends on what you mean by minimal 🙂

  • February 17, 2017, 9:50 am

Great layout! Nice large living space. If you sacrificed the second loft and just had the bathroom back there you could probably get it down to 24′.

The kitchen and living layout with the peninsula seating is similar to one of the designs I modeled before coming up with the one I’m building now. Provides lots of space for guests and relaxing. But the unique staircase and loft design solves one of the issues I had in my design.

One thing that I think could be an issue: the peninsula needs some counter overhang to make it a comfortable place to sit and work.

      February 20, 2017, 8:41 am

It’s pretty awesome — and yes an overhang would be handy!
